These gouges are awesome for the price. They are made really well and are very solid for the price. My only complaint is the metal ring at the top is cheap and doesn’t fit the handle well. But that doesn’t affect the performance of them in the slightest. Definitely recommend!

Solid construction, good steel.

Very nice tools. Could be sharper.

Out of the box, the gouges appeared to be well-constructed with hickory handles (I believe). The hoop rings seem solid and the steel is nicely polished. After putting a couple to the test, all I can say is, "Wow"! Using a wooden mallet, the 1" gouge scoops out a large volume of wood effortlessly. Sure, the edges can use some fine sanding and honing, but it is rare that a set of cutters are sharp out of the box... especially at this low price. Frankly, to me they are just as a good as a $100-$200 set. I am certain these will last me for the rest of my life. I highly recommend this beautiful set of gouges.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find a rounded chisle with the bevel on the underside of the arch. I'm sure it's a good product, but the pictures didn't clarify which side the bevel was on.

Some light sharpening on a diamond stone was needed to make them carve easily. Great value at twice the price.

I tuned these up, got them good and sharp, and they're good. They're nice and long too, and, especially for the price, they're great. The ferrules around the top of the handles are pretty bad, though, and simply bounce around when the chisel is struck.-
