Decent copy of the Iliad at a fair price
The way the line numbers are in line with the text and in the same font is a little annoying, but other than that it's great. It's a nice-sized book and clear to read. This doesn't really affect the product, but they must print them on-demand, because on the last page it says "Made in the USALexington, KY15 April 2017"which was two days ago as of receiving this. Other than the actual text of the Iliad and that last page (which also contains a barcode), there's one other page with copyright information so this is nice to just have a physical copy of the text with no frills.

Tragic, Beautiful, Triumphant.
My father read The Iliad and The Odyssey to me as a young boy - to be able to examine it in the actual language in which it was conceived is both a thrilling and wondrous. It's the work I know and love and yet like I'm reading it for the first time.

A Good Purchase
A nice sized book. The font isn't too small, but it could have been better(one whole inch gap at the bottom of each page has been neglected throughout the entire book). The paper quality isn't bad either. Chapters are indicated in Greek. A chapter table is included on the third page.My only real complaint is that the verses don't run on the same line. However, the termination of every fifth verse IS indicated.Zero notes included. Overall it's a great tool for the novice scholar.Although it does have some shortcomings, this will probably be my most used Iliad(Homeric Greek)text as its print is clear, the paper quality isn't something that will easily fall apart on me, and it is cheap enough for me to write notes/highlight on.

Doesn't scan well = loss of poetic expression
Beware students and hellenophilesThe lines are broken to fit the page rather than to preserve meter - i.e., in Elegiac Couplet, the first line will be six feet of either spondees or dactyls ("dactylic hexameter"). If the last foot is moved to the next line to fit the publisher's "needs", we lose the poetic value. Methods the poet uses such as enjambment (intentionally moving an important word awkwardly to the beginning of the next line, thus drawing attention/giving an affect) are lost. Ultimately, all the words are there, but the poetic expression and reading as the Homeric poet intended are construed.

this is great if you read Greek
this is great if you read Greek. the font is good and large enough. My only complaint is they didn't put one verse on the same line; the verses run over to the next line, which is frustrating. Otherwise, every student of Homer needs to get this book.

Poor layout.
Poorly laid out. It is very difficult to find the line numbers as they are completely embedded in the text. Useless for scholarly purposes or for reference. I am returning.
