Does what it says on the tin, good value.
This item has been purchased for the local WI branch, to meet the need for an easy-to-use, portable PA system for use by visiting speakers, for larger meetings, and so on.It comes with two handheld VHF radio microphones, on frequencies 174.1 and MHz and 175MHz (see below). The mics are plastic bodied, with a metal mesh covered foam windshield. They have a two position switch, OFF-MUTE-ON, and despite being low cost items they work well and are easy to use. They are very directional and need to be 'aimed' at the presenter's mouth; the upside of this is that they are not prone to feedback howl even when the presenter is in front of the PA.Radio mics are usually used with a separate receiver that is plugged into the mixer/amplifier. The QR12PA has the receiver built in, with controls on the back of the unit. The receiver has its own power switch and separate volume controls for each mic in use. (the main unit volume control does not govern the volume from the radio mic channels) . The built in receiver handles two mics, on 174.1/175.0 MHz, so any additional VHF mics you plan to use with this unit need to be on one of these frequencies. I have also bought a pair of QTX 'neckband' VHF mics (order one of each frequency if you want them, items 178.851 and 178.852) and they work fine. There are 2 separate 1/4" jack inputs for a lead microphone, or a guitar for example. There are also 3.5mm and phono inputs for other sources (such as a phone or MP3 player for music) and the built in MP3 player has a USB and a SC card slot. There is also a pair of phono output sockets for the whole mix. There is an echo function that will operate on the radio mic inputs, and presumably on the lead mic inputs if used. There is also a VCV switch, which will partially mute any music being played when speaking into a mic. This does NOT operate on the radio mic source. The manual, which covers the QR12PA and the QR15PA, refers to an FM tuner - the QR12PA does not appear to have one.The unit contains its own battery, which was at least partly charged on arrival, and it worked right out of the box before being plugged in. There is a detachable 'kettle' lead for the mains. There is no obvious way to change the battery, and no reference in the instructions which counsel the user not to open the unit. I believe it is a lead-acid battery that could probably be replaced by a competent person if necessary, and I'm pretty sure that one reviewer mentioned having done that. For what it's worth, my experience of larger lead-acid batteries in boats, caravans etc. is that they last a long time if they are not repeatedly run flat, or left flat, so whilst the battery is claimed to give up to 8 hours operation, I would suggest using it for no more than 3 or 4 without recharging if you want it to last well. This is a fairly heavy item (the spec says it's14Kg,) if you need to lift it on to a stand or even in and out of a car - fit people should have no problem, but it could be awkward for a frailer/weaker person. Just moving it around is helped by the extending handle and wheels. There is a moulded 35mm socket on the base. I'd recommend getting it off the floor, even if it is just put on a side table - it sounds much better.Regarding the sound, it is not hifi, but it is capable of decent volume and with the aid of the tone controls sounds perfectly acceptable and loud enough for a small hall, though not of course for a disco as you could probably still hear yourself speak....Reliability I can't yet speak for, as I have just set up and tested the items, but so far, so good and I am happy with the choice.

Incredible system
For this price , it's hard to argue against not giving it 10/10. It's a beast of a speaker , portable , durable , got plenty of connections (USB / SD / aux & jack ) plenty of power , just one thing to note, don't blast it on full power , it just drains the battery , and to he fair , you wouldnt really go over half way volume either. The sound quality is pretty decent and yes while it may not be premium sound like other speakers , it's still extremely impressive for what it is.One of the best speakers you'll ever buy.Light always prevails , truth never lies and love conquers all.God wins EverytimeGod bless 🙏

Really decent battery PA
It’s a pretty good, battery PA. I ran a whole day (about 5 hours) playing music at about half volume and it lasted the whole time, and had battery left over.I haven’t really had a use for the remote, however I tested it and it did work when it was pointed directly at the back panel of the speaker. I can see how it would be useful for changing tracks off a USB drive, as you can just type in the track number and it skips to that song.I can’t speak about how long the battery lasts as I haven’t had it that long, however I have heard that these units like to ‘over-charge’ and therefore the battery lasts a couple months, then needs to be replaced - this isn’t too big a deal for me as I don’t use it very often, and battery’s are only about £20.Sound quality is decent, it’s perfectly fine for playing music and making announcements at informal events,The horn/treble can be quite sharp at times if you are near the speaker when it’s playing at louder volumes but I think that the treble on these is boosted slightly to help push sound out to a wider audience. (I think I’m probably just being really picky here). One speaker can cover a fairly large area pretty well with sound. The only real problem that I have had, is with the built in wireless mics. They seem to be a bit iffy, sometimes they work, when they want to. However I wouldn’t rely on them as my main source of microphones. They work OK indoors, but the range isn’t great. I did use them outside and had to stand right next to the speaker the whole time, otherwise it disconnected completely. They also sound slightly muffled.I did buy a battery-powered plug in wireless mic and have had no problems with it.I tried to connect a regular, wired mic to the mic socket on the back of the speaker, but it was far quieter than the plug in wireless one.Volume wise, it’s pretty great! It’s got a decent ‘punch’ to the mid/bass for a 12” driver and the horn is clear. Music sounds perfectly fine, and mics do too for more informal events, parties etc.Echo effect for the mics is nice for a ‘Karaoke’ feel as well as the voice over feature. (This has been really handy, and actually really good) just cuts down the volume of any music that’s playing, even through the AUX, so that the mic takes priority and you can hear what is being said.Another tip- i would recommend putting it up onto a speaker stand to get the best coverage over the area, I would actually recommend the QTX speaker stand as the top of it is flat. Some speaker stands have a slightly rounded top: the cup on the bottom of the speaker to hold it onto the stand is pretty shallow, so it helps to have a flat-top stand so that it sits more securely. There is a small locking nut in the back of the speaker to allow you to tighten it onto a stand so that it is more secure too!I can’t really speak on the Bluetooth connectivity as I bought the one without. So, in summary;-Pretty loud-decent clarity-acceptable bass-good battery run timeHowever-wireless mics aren’t great-treble can be a little strong at timesIt works, it does what it is meant to do! And it does it pretty well for the price. Also! It is not waterproof, so make sure to carry something with you to cover it incase it rains!

Wireless Handheld Microphones does not work properly.
Hi, I have bought the QR12PA - Portable PA system on 28th August As I had a meeting on 31st Aug, however Meeting been cancelled and I no need to use after that. My next event was on 19th Oct 2018. And when I was using the Sound system, after 30 min "the Handheld Microphones " start giving trouble, every often it was going out of sound automatically, after 4-5 second sometime after 10-15 sec again sound was coming back. while all the connecton and signal was showing ok, and it was not too far from the machine. like 5-10 feet Max. After this happen I did try to test the next day again and i found the same problem. Looks like warless microphone not delivering the job smoothly. And I strongly recommend amazon to re check the quality of the product to continue with Amazon premium.
