I've only used the larger cutter on steel tubing and PVC pipe. It worked great on both. The larger size with 3 rollers to support the pipe makes square cuts real easy.I can't comment on durability as I have only used it two or three times but I would bet that it should be very durable as it has a nice, large, rigid frame.The large size adjusting knob makes it very easy to keep cutting deeper. So easy in fact that you don't feel any pressure or need any force to cut deeper.I recommend this cutter based on personal experience and use.

Great quality. Cut the pipe like a knife through butter.

Cut through 1 inch metal conduit with ease. It produces a clean cut, but it does taper the cut end a bit. After deburring, the taper is gone. Using a hacksaw will not cause a taper, its most likely caused by the way this is designed to cut. Either way, it works great with no issues.

I bought this pipe cutter to cut a bunch of heavy duty (1.5mm walls) 1-5/16" diameter steel closet rods to size for my custom closet. I found it to be very easy to use and the grip of the tool fit well in my hand and the adjustment knob at the end of the tool that makes it grip tighter or looser was easy to turn especially with the black rubber grip on it.The tool cut the rods cleanly with very little burring on the ends, however, it does tend to chip a little of the paint off the rods at the very ends, though hide the chipped areas were hidden by the mounting hardware.

So bought this for a job I was doing running a lot of EMT conduit. Wanted something that would cut up to 1 1/2” and this fit the bill. Cuts steel emt like butter especially 1/2” be careful cause it cuts way faster than you think with very little effort. The cutter seems to be built very sturdy it’s been dropped and thrown around a few times already and still holding strong. Blade holding up well too considering we’re cutting steel with it. One thing I did have happen to me once was when I was cutting larger diameter pipe it started to spiral down the pipe when I was trying to get it started cutting, just went the opposite direction and then it was fine. Other than that I love it and glad I bought it, even got my coworker to order one he loved it so much. Way easier than a saw or one of those pipe cutters from HD or Lowe’s and like a 3rd the price

I purchased these to help with our closet renovation. We purchased a closet organizer system that included metal garment bars. So we needed something to cut all the metal garment bars to size. These pipe cutters were perfect! They are very easy to use and you don’t have to be very strong to use them. You simply place the pipe cutter around the metal garment bar and turn a knob to tighten the cutter. Then just rotate the cutter in a circle back and forth and it cuts through the bar. I also love that they included two pipe cutters. These pipe cutters were a great price! They will serve all your needs.

I need to cut a bunch of 1" Schedule 40 PVC, and I need the cuts to be square. The first ratcheting PVC cutter I tried worked ok, but it was very difficult to get a square cut. So I tried this cutter and it definitely cut the pipe square and straight, but it took way too long and put a slight flare on the end of the pipe that made it impossible to push into any elbows or other types of couplers. I'll still keep it, though. It's well built and feels heavy duty. Should work great on thin-walled metal pipes.
