Homemade incubator light
This adapter powers a 15 watt light bulb in a homemade incubator I recently built to hatch baby chicks and took less than 5 minutes to install. I highly recommend it for anyone who needs a light that's not wired!

A nice adaptor.
This works exactly as you'd expect it would. As with any electrical device connected to potentially lethal voltage, there can be risk, if misused. Most bulbs when screwed into this will leave some of the metal threaded portion of the lamp base exposed. One reviewer mentioned a shock hazard from this. If it is properly plugged into a correctly wired receptacle, the exposed metal will be connected to the Neutral, and if you're grounded and you touch it, there should be no shock. If you somehow reverse the polarity, you could contact the Hot side of the circuit. Check your wiring, observe the correct polarity is maintained. Another reviewer mentioned that the socket got hot. If the bulb is hot, it will heat the socket, watch your wattage. If a bulb is loosely screwed in, there could be a high resistance contact, with some heating, but the fault there is in the failure to screw the lamp in firmly. Used properly, this is a very handy little adaptor.
