My wife and I purchased this door so our 11 month old puppy (Bella) could go outside as she pleased. I had read other reviews prior to ordering. As some have pointed out the video made installation look easier than it was, but overall it was reasonable. Even the step-by-step manual was confusing at times. After installing the insulation, I ended up with a slight gap. This was not the fault of the dog door. The sliding glass door has been with the house for a long time, so I am sure it's showing its age. I went to the local home improvement store and purchased some insulation and that took care of the problem. I was not able to install the vacation lock since the pin is not long enough. It's not a big deal to us. Overall the door is very sturdy, well constructed, and works great. It didn't take long to adjust the inside and outside sensors. The door does take up more space than I thought it would. A person who weighs 120lbs or so would get through the opening okay. Anyone larger may not. We have another door that exits to our backyard so that is not an issue for us. It didn't take long for Bella to learn how to use it. After a few tries she was going out or in without any coaxing.

I just installed this panel today and so far so good! It seems to work well with the collar it came with, it just takes some adjusting with the sensor knobs to get the range you want. I’m giving four stars because the installation was not as easy as the video made it seem, and the written instructions were fairly confusing at some points. My dad who is very handy helped me get it it all together and set up. There’s absolutely no way I would have been able to do it on my own, but that is the main downside. The weather stripping wasn’t thick enough for my slider to make a tight contact so I wound up getting thicker weather stripping, but that may just be my very old sliding glass door and they way it is set on the track. Overall, I’m happy with this buy so far!Update: This was the best purchase I could have made for my dog! He has a GI condition that causes him to have accidents when I’m at work and to need to go out all throughout the night most nights. Long story short, there hasn’t been an accident since installing the panel and no more walks at odd and potentially dangerous times of night. Total game changer! Totally recommend!

I had purchased another doggie door for my screen door that just had the basic flap to allow him in and out. It worked great, and he figured out how to use it pretty quick. Problem is, we have an outside cat that wants to live inside, and she figured out how to use the doggie door faster than the dog did...This door works very well, it is fairly loud, but it works out great because we can tell when he's going outside, or if we know he's already outside we can hear from the other room when he's coming back inside. It has kept the cat from coming in the house completely, and the glass panels help keep the heat outside where it belongs.Have had to make minor adjustments for the range that it picks up the transponder around his neck a few times. Initially it would open the door when he was within about 8 feet of the door, and we've got it dialed in so it only opens when he's within about 3 feet.The only thing that I think would have made this better was if it came with the battery "option" along with the AC power adapter. Will be buying the battery as a backup just in case for when our power goes out this summer.This door is pretty expensive, but it is solidly built, and works extremely well. If you are considering a good solid electronic dog door that fits a standard sliding glass door this one is worth looking at.

Saved up for this product to buy before the summer to help cut down on letting to cool air out of our house through the dog door- spent a couple extra hundred dollars to get it delivered during the heatwave- 3 senior dogs loved it- getting the senor right is tricky but eventually great 34 days late stopped working this is where the manufacture failed- the website says they will do warranty exchanges for free no problem- there are problems- if you are too upset that your 900.00 investment didn't last 45days and get frustrated they will treat you badly and not be apologetic at all- they will ship your replacement standard even though you had yours sent express they will force you to give them a credit card (or will not process the order) they will not offer credits sympathy express delivery apologies or great customer service- they will leave their sellers out to dry to deal with ticked off customers. When you are the only gig in town with this product I guess can be this way- but they should update their website with how the exchange process really works for a warranty and not leave details out that should be included for any customer that may need the info. I am sure my next warranty exchange will be plagued with retaliation after this review but I needed to share.
