These are panel mount IEC sockets, aka kettle lead sockets.The IEC cable is a great design that is used on many products, these particular sockets I use in a 3D printed enclosure with an aperture sized to hold this in. You use screws to fix the socket to the case.You can solder to the pins directly or use crimps, I prefer to use crimps myself as it makes it easier in the future to modify and or repurpose the sockets.Reasonable value for money and good quality.

I'm taking off one star, because it doesn't say which crimp you're supposed to use. I measured the size at 4.7mm spade so I assume that's a 4.8mm crimp, which is a standard however the locating holes are over-sized in comparison to a standard 4.8mm spade, so I'm not completely sure.

These seem decent quality but have no polarity markings on them. You will need to use a meter and lead to determine L & N.

I work repairing music equipment and needed some of these at very short notice as the ones I had in were a bit too long. They are really really poor quality. Not a single one in the pack worked because the pins are a little small and so the iec plug doesn't grip it. Literally if you plug in your lead and turn the unit upside down the iec will fall out. I tried all my cables in my workshop so it's not the lead. The one I wanted it to replace is 35 years old and still grips better than these. You can bend the pins a little to try and get them to grip but the second you plug in the iec it bends them back because they are just a little weak. Shame but never had any this bad before.
