Amazing in 4K; forget the nonsense about Season 8 ruining it!
This is the greatest series ever to grace the small screen. I was initially put off by the sometimes gratuitous sex in the early series (not because I’m prudish but because it was not necessary and put a lot of folks off watching this brilliantly written series, presented in an epic scale). It’s got giants, dragons and zombie dragons. What’s not to like. I got completely hooked and have now watched it through 4 times, and watched the Battle of the Bastards (Season 6 Episode 9) about 8 times. The Battle with The Night King, Season 8, Episode 3 is the greatest 1hr and 23mins on TV. Takes your breath away from start to finish and looks best (less dark) in 4K. Also, the idea that Season 8 is terrible is utter rubbish. Yes, The Dragon Queens’ character arc is rushed, although her vindictiveness instincts and refusal to listen to her advisors are quite clear in several episodes in earlier series. However Episodes 3 and 5 are in the top 10 of the best episodes of the whole GoT and they make up 35-40% of the series so how can it be that bad? And the other episodes in Series 8 are just fine, even if I did want someone else on the Iron Throne. Best watched on a 4K HDR OLED or QLED TV on an Oppo UHD player in 9.2 surround sound. The scenes in the snow with Bran and others next to the tree with red leaves just looks so amazing and clearly improves on the BluRay. Watch it.

Demo Worthy 4K Release!
I bought this set as it was on offer for £110, I had a £25 amazon gift card so for £85 it was a no brainer.I have the original blurays and whilst they are demo worthy in their own right, The 4K transfers of this show are on another level. The Fine details in clothes, the surroundings i mean i just cant describe how gorgeous this show looks in 4K.The HDR/DV add’s another lovely yet subtle layer to the mix, Im glad HBO decided not to completely blow out the shows contrast, Brightness or colours. They have respected the shows original look and only enhanced it and the results are breathtaking.Season 1 was filmed and finished in 1080p and so the 4K discs are an upscale from 1080p to 4K and they still look amazing, The added resolution and HDR adds layers to this already demo worthy set.The audio is another reason to grab this set, The atmos is simply immersive and although the atmos is also featured on the bluray's the added 4K resolution with the atmos audio is just a delight.A-load of the bonus features are ported over to this set also, with some featuring on the episode discs and the 2 bonus discs included and what is also cool is they feature the animated movie they released years ago also.Overall if own the blurays already and you ate looking to upgrade then wait for it to be below £100 but if you have never owned this show before then this set is the definitive way to watch this show.Video Quality: 9/10Audio Quality: 10/10Bonus Features: 8/10Value for Money: 8/10OVERALL: 8/10HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Even THAT ending couldn't spoil the best TV show of all time...in my opinion...
You have 6 seasons, (yes even 5!) post to post, of the best TV show of all time here, in lovely Blu-ray, minus adverts, subscriptions and premiums...and seasons 7 and 8!There are a LOT of extras here, mostly interesting and useful, including some quite hilarious deleted scenes and enough background lore to turn a noob into a Westerosi scholar in a matter of hours! The elephant in the room, yes, Seasons 7 and 8 disappointed many, (me included) and we all would have been happier with another 10 season and the release of a certain book (...) but this is what we got and it ain't THAT bad!As an aside, The Hound has the best and most complete story arc in the history of TV - THAT is a fact!

FOR THE IRON THRONE (QUITE SIMPLY 'A MUST WATCH')
Around 8 years in the making George R.R. Martin's 'SONG OF ICE ANDFIRE' became one of the most followed made for TV spectacles ever screened.A compelling epic which overall would take some three-days of continuous viewing towatch is for myself probably and there have been many a great series, this in myfavourite view.If you last followed the series over 8 years like myself, you'll remember some significantmoments overall watch again it will be as fresh and exciting as it was first time around. The 4K boxset contains 33 discs, other than the 3 extra's discs (Blu-ray) all are in 4Konly......The 4K visually is outstanding, the many, many special-effects benefiting greatly.Adapted from the book-series entitled A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE by George R.R Martinthough in truth the final book had not yet been written, I do suspect the producers ofthe epic probably expected it to be when they set out.The final series came in for much criticism from many, overall it was indeed quite aspectacle to watch. (am sure when and if George R.R.Martin does complete it willbevery different)A story of treachery, violence and deception coupled with scenes of a sexual naturewith nudity and indeed much strong language, coupled with many well staged battlesequences. The story is told from many angles which eventually come together. From the outset a hint of the threat from 'White-Walkers' is evident which will increaseand intensify as the series builds.Though there are indeed many characters included along the way from the seven kingdoms of Westeros the story centres upon the Starks from Winterfell in the north, we follow the fate of each including John Snow (Kit Harington) Ned Starks bastard son, along with Arya Stark (Masie Williams) and sister Sansa (Sophie Turner) and crippled brother Bran ( Isaac Hempstead Wright')And from Kings Landing in the South we follow in the main the fortunes of the Lannister'sthe outsider of the family, but probably the one with a brain Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) the calculating and tyrannical Cersei (Lena Headey) and king-slayer yet honourable Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau)And from over the sea (Daenerys Targaryen (Emillia Clarke) mother-of-dragons who is determined to retake what had been stolen from her family Westeros and the seven kingdoms. There are indeed dozens of key characters followed also worthy of a mention of course.Although all armies appear to be rivals they will have to come together to have any chance of defeating the threat and staying alive against the vast Army of The Dead but will they all rally to the cause ?A superior series worthy of a 4k investment to re-view or indeed watch for the first time.Footnote - Fist time of viewing took over 8 years, this time around 15 days of intense viewing.

good communication
This item did not play well on my DVD player and so I returned it. I was impressed by the seller's communication. I'm sure it would usually be fine, as described apart from that issue.
