Works well and adds a lot of flexibility to what batteries you can run. On my Stampede I run two battery hold down bars. The lower to hold the battery and the upper one I've epoxied a Go-Pro mount to. With foam shims between them its quite solid. I cut out the drivers side front window on a body and the camera winds up just about where a drivers head would be. Now need an FPV setup...

If you're needing a taller battery strap this is it. Fits perfectly with fast shipping and a great price. I highly recommend...

This can hold up too just about any size 3s pack.
If your going to run any 3s or some 2s batterys you need this expansion kit. Has worked well for me. Nice that it comes with a extra brace. Glad i bought this as soon as i bought my stampede.

I originally thought this kit would work with a 3S Traxxas LiPo and Stampede 4x4 VXL. The battery still doesn't fit (too long). Essentially you put this on the lowest setting and strap the battery on top with velcro straps.

Excellent
Must have upgrade...Fits all sorts of sized batteries with ease. Max height I believe is 44mm which is perfect for the 10000mah battery. You can still use the stock battery with this kit.

Buy this one for 1/10 scale.
Works much like the split paint stick I was using, but looks better.

Works perfectly
Solid little upgrade. Keeps even the largest batteries secure with no problems. A must for large Lipo batteries.

Bad idea for bashing
This was great while it lasted. I liked the look of it and used it in my Traxxas Stampede VXL 4x4 to accommodate a 2S 10,000 mah battery. Then one day the Stampede took a bad tumble and the silver metal post snapped off right at the top of the threads. Bad design as the threaded part of the post is much slimmer than the rest of it making it a weak point.I had to try using a screw remover bit which didn’t work. Then ended up using my Dremel to shave down the plastic enough to grab the top of the threads and unscrew it.After all that I decided to just install a Velcro battery strap instead as I didn’t want to go through that again. Now I can use any battery type or size I want without having to mess with pins or changing out parts. The strap keeps the battery in place nice and snug unlike the original battery arm or extended battery expansion kit. Those arms allow the battery to wobble in the tray too much causing an unstable ride. It even flew out of the vehicle a few times after some nasty crashes. You NEVER want a LIPO flying through the air and crashing down on hard surfaces, or even hitting people. Luckily I’ve mostly driven in large grassy fields with no one nearby.Overall I think it was a great learning experience to where I learned Velcro straps are much better to use and last much longer. Traxxas should just go with that in their vehicles instead of these plastic arms with thin posts and clip pins. A waste of time and money in my opinion. Plus I’d say they’re not very safe or secure to use. Let me know if you’d like to see how I installed a strap and I’ll post a pic or 2.
