A beautiful book

Like other books is this series, this is a seriously heavyweight book of around 500 pages. It is a compilation of photos sourced from stock libraries rather than being the work of a single photographer, which allows it to be more comprehensive but at the same time maybe lacking in cohesion. The photos are well reproduced, many of them as double page spreads, and many are stunning, particularly those of the Highlands. They are arranged in geographical sections, and have good coverage of all areas. For the size and content, it is good value for money, especially compared with many books published by Icelandic photographers which, like everything else in Iceland, don't come cheap.
