NEW this model, in the Blue had everything I wanted in a vacuum and sells here at Amazon for $282. plus tax. I found this exact model for LESS in the Amazon Warehouse for only $173. plus tax. It was marked as either as Very Good or Like New, and came in the original box. This means someone used it and didn't like it and returned it during their window of time. I read TONS of reviews before choosing this Brand, Shark, and this Model, the Vertex. I did not want a cordless because I don't want to be waiting around for it to charge. I wanted the power of a corded model.Lately I have bought several Items from Amazon from their Warehouse. ALL of them have been like NEW and no one would know they were ever opened up or maybe used a few times. These items for some unknown reason though, DO take a LOT longer BEFORE they leave the warehouse and ship. Once they ship they usually arrive very quickly. I could not afford to buy this model NEW so I was willing to wait, in my case about a month to get this deal.Pros: I could not be happier. This vacuum far exceeds what I had expected. It is SO powerful and so strong. It does a great job of vacuuming both carpet and hard flooring. I have used it to get tons of cat fur off the walls which was one of the reasons I bought it. With 4 indoor only cats the fur is everywhere. It's easy to use and I love not having to buy bags.Cons: The not so great? Well, it IS loud, but I'm used to that. It's heavier than I wanted, so I have to take more breaks to give my arm a rest. The worst thing about it is how hot the motor gets. I don't know if this is a design flaw or a bad unit? Knowing all the cons I would STILL buy this particular vacuum. Compared to pushing around a much heavier, bulkier upright body this is still considered a lightweight Vacuum Stick but rivals any full size vacuum I've ever used. Could not be happier at the deal and the item.

I have a Shark Rocket and loved it and since the reviews were good, I bought this one (hv322) for a friend who needed a new lightweight vacuum. I tried it and love it. Compared to the orange one (hv301), this one-is lighted both by the vacuum, and the dust canister should you use the attachments without the long wand. You can vacuum in dim light easily.-has a bigger and **detachable** canister which is great. Now you don’t have to carry a plastic grocery bag with me around the house to dump the yuck in. But that is still easy to do… And I can spray-rinse it out since it’s no longer fixed to the cord.-still has similar amazing suction which is great.-still maneuvers to an almost 90 degrees when teaching tough spots.-Note: If you can find a floor attachment that fits the HV322, it’s great for floors; better than the vacuum attachment on the first setting.For folks complaining about suction, etc., even the best vacuums require human intervention. Be sure you 1) turn the vacuum over regularly and use scissors to cut any accumulation of long strings and hair along the two grooves and pull that stuff out and toss. Your vacuum can’t perform optimally with a ton of hair wrapped around the brush. 2) wash the filter(s) regularly with dish soap and warm water. Wash and squeeze until water runs clean and let dry overnight. Your vacuum can’t perform optimally with clogged filters. I’ve had my hv301 for many, many years and it still runs beautifully and has amazing suction. A little care goes a long way.I’m now waiting for the hv322 to go down a little in price so I can buy one for myself.

It's overall a really good and versatile stick vac, & though it is light the build quality is not flimsy. Really great suction & it gets right up to the wall. Does a wonderful job on my bedroom carpeting. It's great on the laminate on most of my floors, even picks up kitty litter that gets tracked. Easy to use, but it does keep me hopping to empty the bin but I guess all sticks have dinky dust bins. I have to be careful not to run over the cord, but I didn't want to have to worry about charging batteries. I do wish it would stand up on it's own, as I don't find removing the handheld power unit very convenient to remove to store. Like my old battered 12 year old duct taped Rotator Pro, it is noisy, but I think that's just Shark.
