Yes, it has the normal range of light sensitivity for a light meter, meaning that it will work in most lighting conditions where you would be able to see any details with your own eyes. I have used this at twilight and in Florida at mid-day without any issues.

Q: Is this a good light meter foruse with the Zone system

No. Spot meters are preferred for zone system (to measure areas in a scene) and this is not a spot meter. This is primarily an incident meter.

Q: In the product description, it mentions ev3-ev17. what does that mean?

Metering range: EV3-EV17 (i.e., f/1.4, 1/4sec.- f/11, 1/1000 sec. at ASA 100 with 50mm f/1.4 lens. ASA film speed setting)

Q: Would this be accurate for shooting white objects such as white walls?

This meter is quite accurate and compares well with other meters I own. When photographing white objects I use a grey card, or my skin tones to get an correct exposure. Or use the incident light setting by pointing at the light source.
