works well
Nut was too small, used nut from existing, did job with a buzz in under five minutes. has thicker steel should last longer.

Thick shaft might last 8 years. Ball 15mm/0.6inch. Plastic nut can't get tight.
Thick shaft might last 8 years. Ball 15mm/0.6inch. Plastic nut can't get tight (it kept popping loose) so I re-used the original metal collar nut after vinegar wash and silicone grease. Fits my hallway bath sink drain. I think I've replaced this popup lever about 3 times now in 24 years.2024 replacement price now seems unreasonable.

An aggravating but inexpensive repair part
Minerals in our hard water caused major corrosion throughout the bathroom sink drain assembly, so we needed this replacement part to get the pop-up drain “popping” again. I wasn't sure of the faucet brand so I took a chance with this Danco ball rod, which looked pretty much like the old part.We did finally get this to work on our drain, but I can’t say it was easy. Very aggravating getting the rod perfectly positioned so that the drain pops up enough but then also closes completely when down! We were working on a pedestal sink so we actually had pretty easy access to the work area; if your sink is inside a bath vanity it would be even more of a hassle. Plumbers make quick work of this type of repair, sometimes it's worthwhile to just pay someone else to do things!

Perfect replacement
Purchased as a replacement. The quality seems to be the same as the original. The value for the price was fair. It serves its purpose and was easily replaced.

Not Universal
If your drain assembly is a Danco 86783 this should work. But if your drain assembly is like mine it has no name on it so one does not know what brand or model one has. This is not a universal part. The rod is .197" in diameter (nominally 3/16), 6.5" long and the ball is .600" diameter. The ball is located 4.5" from the end of the rod.The part I needed had a .216" diameter rod (nominally 7/32) and a .720 diameter ball.If you are not sure what you need the Danco 88532 is a universal assembly with three different ball sizes. According to the reviews, it is not quite universal but has a better probably of fitting than than this single size. The three stars is not an indication how well it works as I never tried it.

Works Well For My Moen Faucet, Quick and Easy to Install
This was easy to install (Moen faucet) and it does not leak. I have never changed out a ball and rod before this (I'm a woman) but I did it on my own.
