Shubhkart Handmade Indian Solid Brass Pyali , Oil Lamp / Sunflower Diya

For years I have been meditating, using candles as a light. I have always wanted to try using an oil lamp and thought this would be the best type. I got some cotton wicks and filled the lamp with olive oil. The flame is wonderful and stable, no flickering, no drips, no waste and amazingly the lamp stays cool when alight. Lovely lamp.

When I read the online description and picture, I really liked the design of it, it looks very beautiful and therefore I placed the order. However, when it arrived, I just found that the oil lamp was poorly polished (see the second picture) and when I tried it with sesame oil, It just start to leak oil although I have tried to tighten the screw and tried several times. --can not use it.

This is a cute little thing and it is little. You need to be super careful that you keep an eye on it and that you don’t overfill. It shouldn’t be left unsupervised as it can be quite tricksy if you don’t get the right level of oil.

Using this as my devoo fro my late wife.Found the traditional lamps difficult to keep lit for more than 4hrs at a time and wicks were hard to keep going.This lamp burns 12-16hrs no problem before topping up and the wicks last 4 days before needing replaced.I can now focus on her instead of being stressed about keeping the lamp lit.

The lamp is small - as seen on a photo next to the golf ball. That suits me perfectly.

The lamp is very good but it leaks oil.

At first sight i loved it.but when i poured oil in it,it started to leak from the lower side.Quite disappointed.
