Really nice rails especially for the price
My friend and I build a custom made rack out of solid boards of cherrywood and we used these rails. They were perfect. Everything lines up as it should and I couldn't be happier with the finished result. They look nice and clean, The functionality and storage capacity is exactly what it should be. For the price and size options you really can't go wrong. I plan on buying many more of these in varying sizes in the future. What everyone else mentioned in other reviews about the screws it comes with being wrong is 100% true. Absolutely take that seriously and don't even try to thread them into these rails. The size of thread that music gear racks use is not metric or standard, its an imperial thread. Don't go looking for it at the hardware store, just buy some gator rack screws for $10 bucks from here or GC and they'll thread in and perfect. If you try and thread in the screws it came with you better plan on that being a permanent installation.

Don't listen to complaints about the screw holes being too small...
These are incredible quality for the price. They are sturdy enough to hold my two units with just the rails and screws alone.(picture 1+2)There are plenty of complaints about the screw holes being a little tight but all you have to do is use a screwdriver with a bit of pressure and they'll go right in. Just be sure they are lined up so you don't strip the threads. And honestly you need them that tight, if they were looser your equipment wouldn't be secured. I assembled this in 5 minutes with only a screwdriver and I'm a weak-wristed lady so if I can do it without needing power tools or having to cut the holes wider then anyone can.I saw other comments about the holes not lining up correctly. You do have to line up the top and bottom of your equipment with the lines. Were a line is painted, the adjacent screw holes are slightly closer together.(picture 3. Sorry my handwriting is terrible.) If you don't line up your equipment with the lines then yes, the screw holes on your equipment will not line up properly. That seems kinda obvious, but people like to complain superfluously in Amazon's rating section. It's easier to blame the product than admit one's own ignorance.Plenty of screws and washers were included with the rails but they did not come with nuts, so if you're using heavier equipment you might want to get some. I am not using nuts in the pictures as my stack is holding up fine without them. I have not tested just how much weight the threads can handle, so better to be safe than sorry.I will be purchasing more of these for the rest of my equipment. These exceeded my expectations.

Fine rails, wrong bolts
The media could not be loaded. The bolts that I got with the rails were metric M5. The holes appear to be tapped for imperial 10-32 bolts. I wrote the manufacturer and they replied promptly. They sent the right bolts, and they are very high quality black anodized, with an unthreaded tip that makes lining it up in the rail very easy even with heavy equipment.I was pleased enough with the rails to order two more pairs. They also arrived with the wrong, M5, bolts. Fortunately I don't have a lot of small gear, so I should be able to make do with the nice ones they mailed me.I think they just have a lot of stock with the wrong bolts at the Amazon warehouse that they can't do anything about until it all sells.

Perfect for our church sound system rack equipment.
Used these to make two rack cabinet additions for our church sound system desk. With using 2 sets, I was able to make two side by side cabinets to rack our monitor amp and eq, 4 wireless multi mic receiver units and both cd players; to play and record. This keeps the equipment right in front of the main sound board for easy access and operation. They were bolted to both the system desk and to wood framing to make a compact and sturdy setup for our sound system area. Sturdy enough to hold all and with the wood supports made the entire setup a compact, solid package for our use. They worked well for our small space setup. I recommend these for those needing to rack sound/audio equipment for efficient use and access.

Rack rails appear nicely made; screws are useless.
I bought 3 pair of 8U and 1 pair of 12U rails and they appear to be nicely constructed and holes appear to align with each other. I haven't installed them yet to hold gear, so I can't comment on that just yet. Based on some other reviews I wanted to first check out the screw issue before installing and having to deal with issues. They do NOT screw in without a LOT of back and forth elbow grease to work out a fresh thread path. Before re-threading EVERY hole, I tried a standard black rack screw from my other rack-mount unit and it screwed right in without any difficulties. Conclusion - the screws that come with the rails are not designed for the rails and are practically useless unless you care to re-thread every hole just to use the non-matching screws. I decided against that and will just buy more standard screws. If this came with the standard "working" screws I would very likely give this product 5 stars. If they reduced the price a bit and just didn't include the crappy screws at all I would also likely give these 5 stars. I took off 2 stars for the hassle of purchasing something new that requires extra time on my part to make it function the way it's supposed to and/or spend more money to be able to use them.
