I bought this in June of 2020. It has now stopped working. Looking at the date code of the remote sensor, it is June of 2015. The battery only has a 10 year life! Do not trust this supplier.

Great effective water conservation add-on. It will set back the set times for each station depending on recent moisture and temperature conditions. For instance a week after we received 6" of rain, the controller indicated that the sprinkler times would run at 56% of the settings. During that week we had warm dry days and the soil was dry near the surface. Of course after a rain, the Solar Sync will prevent watering until the controller senses that evaporation has occurred. We received 50% rebate for the cost of the Solar Syncs from the City for adding the devices to our 5 , I-Core controllers.

Not sure how well the technology for correcting watering times actually works. It updates every night and adjusts watering times as advertised, but the times are very low for this time of year and have to be frequently adjusted. This feature might work well after an extended period of use. My main problem with this unit is that it constantly drops the wireless connection to the controller forcing a re-sync virtually daily. The wireless sensor is advertised to work up to 800 feet away from the controller. Mine is within 40 feet and still does not work properly. On the plus side, Hunter tech support is great. Responded to my email within 48 hours and offered a wired replacement. I went wireless for a reason and don't really want a wired unit but need the rain sensor ability (not the actual solar sync function) so I guess a wired will suffice.

Receiver unit installed into my  Hunter Sprinkler XC600i X-Core 6-Station Indoor Controller Timer 6 Zone  with no problems. Just two wires to connect with a screwdriver.Transmitter was easy to install off of a rain gutter.NOTE: Install the Receiver FIRST, then check/verify the pairing before climbing up on a ladder and installing the transmitter.
