Exactly what I needed! Up to 30 degree drop in temps when towing
Awesome cooler and perfect fit for my 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 duramax. I pull a 3400lb single axle travel trailer all over the country and I used to get transmission temps of 220 on the highway and upwards of 250 when pulling up hills off road with the camper. This cooler brought the highway temps down to 190 and offroad temps down to 212.I installed the cooler BEFORE the radiator to allow the tranmssion to maintain operating temperatures. I also listened to other reviewers and ditch the hose that came with the cooler. I made all AN lines for the cooler and I have absolutely no leaks after a couple weeks of having it installed. Loving it so far!

Buy it
I normally dont review but this exceeded my expectations. I have 40's on my truck and it dropped temps from 200 and its not been over 140 even with hard driving. Easy install other than having to trim some plastic. Highly recommend.

Transmission saving upgrade for my 2004 Silverado 1500
The media could not be loaded. Decided to do this last minute upgrade before a trip that involved towing another long bed truck with both trucks fully loaded in the bed and cabs(helping my old man move two states away). I started by checking my trans temps at highway speeds with the original cooler without towing anything. I peaked at about 180 degrees going uphill without the engine screaming. After doing the swap I started my journey, truck empty towing a small enclosed trailer also empty. Never saw the temps go above 135 degrees til I reached my destination. On the way back fully loaded down I peaked at 152 degrees on a steep uphill under heavy load and engine giving her all she had. I am very much pleased and relieved that I put this in when I did. I very much recommend it to anyone. As a side note if you haven’t already. Make sure to bypass the trans cooler that’s built into the radiator. They are notorious for failing and causing your fluids to mix in ways they shouldn’t. Just add rubber hose to your factory cooler lines with some clamps and run it out front to the cooler.

Leaking 1.5 months later
Please contact me. Amazon makes it so hard to figure out how to send a message. This started leaking today in the middle of one of the fins and I purchased it end of January. It says in your listing that you provide support but there is no way to contact you.

Keeps tahoe cool
Installed on my wife's 2013 tahoe. Kept temps at 120 pulling a uhual trailer 1300 miles. Sometimes was too cool. Added a bypass to get the temps I want.

Great upgrade for your truck
I replaced the small factory tow package cooler since my temps were near 200 degrees and would go over 200 degrees pulling my boat. I flipped the bottom bracket around and used a grinder to notch it so I could mount the trans cooler to it (had to slide the cooler to the passenger side a bit to clear the mount for the PS cooler). I used a brake line cutter to cut the factory lines off horizontal, and then used a brake flare tool to slightly flare them. I doubled up on the clamps where the hose connected to the factory lines. On the cooler, I used pipe thread tape around the fittings to ensure no leaks.Pros: seems to be working good. Put about 50 miles on the truck last night on the highway going 80 MPH with the AC running. Temps never got above the halfway mark from 100 to 200 (so I'm guessing that's 150 or 160 degrees). Install took me about 2 hours in my driveway. I used everything included in the kit (had to cut the hose to fit).Cons: fins are really easy to bend. I had to use a small flat blade screwdriver to straighten some of them out after I was done mounting the cooler. Also, the included clamps are cheap. I've got a tiny drip from the return hose where it clamps to the cooler fitting. I'm going to replace that clamp with a clamp from the auto parts store tonight. My advice would be just get 2 packs of small hose clamps from your local auto parts store and use those instead of the included ones. Also that included screws will strip easily at the phillips head. I used a 10mm socket to tighten them. I snapped one off but I guess I didn't drill a large enough pilot hole for it to mount to the bracket on my 2000 Chevy Silverado Z71.I also flushed the transmission while I had the stock cooler off. I used some clear 3/8" hose and ran it into a bucket. I started the truck and while the dark old fluid was coming out I was pouring in new fluid until it was coming out red. Then I installed the cooler, added more fluid, started the truck, and kept adding fluid until it was at the proper level. I think I flushed about 3 gallons (12 quarts) through it to get the dark fluid out. I ended up buying 5 gallons of fluid total (in gallon jugs from Walmart) and I have about a half jug left after the trans was full. If you don't need to flush yours out you won't need as much fluid.

2001 Tahoe transmission cooler
I have this mounted behind the grille in my 2001 Tahoe that has a lower mileage 03 Escalade transmission. Old transmission used to see temps on average around 200 degrees. Since installing the cooler with the new transmission I haven’t seen temps over 114 degrees on a 70 degree day will have to see in the summer how it performs
