Wild: The Legendary Horses of Sable Island Hardcover – July 12, 2021

Drew Doggett's photography is magnificently presented and beautifully introduced by Dr. Jane Goodall. Scattered through the book are bits of poetic prose which assist in telling the story of Sable Island and the horses that for centuries have called this isolated place home. Also calling Sable Island home are hundreds of grey seals which perhaps by no coincidence are often referred to as Horsehead Seals. I found this book to be amazing on many levels. I'm thrilled to add it to my library and recommend it. It's so much more than five stars. This book is definitely a "ten."

This coffee table book is an absolute gem, surpassing all expectations. Its grandeur lies not only in its size but in the intricate details within its pages. Exterior: as for a coffee table book, this is absolutely stunning. It's very large. It's a lot thinner than I thought but absolutely breathtaking. The cover is got a matte silk like finish white and beautiful... The inside hardcover is also matte. I don't know how he did that but it's gorgeous as well with white cover. This is an excellent addition for anyone into coffee table books and horsesInterior: The pages are large full glossy very high quality images. Exhibit style portraits. Some are up close. Some are farther away. The details and HD in the details are gorgeous! The love for black and white goes through the entire book as well as the visual index is a brilliant idea. He labels each of his portraits and my favorite has got to be "Free". The text is made up of small descriptions however I found "she is made up of legends" quite poetic and increase my love for Sable Island that I hope to one day visit if I ever could.Thank you so much for your labor of love. This book is such a wonderful addition to our home collection of books about horses.

The attention to detail in the publication of this book is wonderful. The book was signed by the photographer, who clearly loves these animals, and as a horse lover myself, it was lovely to see such care taken in not only putting these pieces together in this book, but also the great amount of love and care clearly taken while photographing these amazing creatures. That love of not only the art of photography but also of horses can be felt across the pages. The photos are printed in high quality paper, which is so important for a photography book, and the artist leaves pieces of himself in each volume. Highly recommend not only this book but Doggett’s work generally.

I've had my eye on this beautiful book for awhile and I am so glad that I finally purchased it. It's stunning and affirming. Thank you for creating this treasure!
