It's a lock
I researched this on line, and it can be picked. I'm sure that any lock I could afford to buy could be picked, and this one was more difficult and took longer to open. I don't know any thieves personally, but my guess is they're as lazy as the rest of us and will look for the easiest target they can. This lock is not an easy target. It is heavy and well constructed. Very little of the shank is exposed and the keyhole itself is difficult to get at where I am using it. It is exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price.

Good Sturdy Product.
No comment needed. Will speak for itself as long as its the 24/70 heavy duty lock. Considering getting another for other uses.

Excellent products, fit perfectly where I needed them.
A couple years ago I built an iron safe for my guns. It uses two padlocks but, until now, I never felt it was really secure. The two Disckus padlocks keyed alike fit perfectly and now I'm sure my guns are really safe. The padlocks are strong and also look nice.

Very good lock
Works great. Would recommend to others. Very easy to operate and arrived quickly as I was in need of it.

best lock for security
The lock is perfect and exactly as expected. The only issue is how it is described. When I read the description and it keeps referring to each lock being keyed alike and how each lock is supplied with 2 keys per lock. It comes across to me as a pair of locks. When bought in the past they were in prepackaged sets of 2. This is only 1 lock, and was shipped in USPS $4.95 box, but charged $8 S&H

Not all disc locks are made alike
I do not personally own an Abus disc lock, but I was the manager of a self-storage facility (300+ units) for two years and disc locks were the preferred method of locking units. They are superior to padlocks in a couple of ways: 1) the design keeps the shackle protected when it's locked, so it's very difficult to get cutters to it, and 2) even if the hasp is severed, the lock still will not open.Disc locks are not all the same in terms of quality, however. What I learned during my two years in self-storage is that Abus locks are the best there is. The cylinder (where the key goes) is very finely machined, takes a complex key, and typically has 5-6 pins in it. The shackle and case are hardened steel, and this is VERY important. Regular steel is easily cut with an angle grinder or bolt cutters. Hardened steel, not so much. I have personally attempted to cut open one of these locks with an angle grinder. I worked on it for over an hour with no significant results. It's simply too difficult to cut through. Now, it IS possible to break into one of these locks. I taught myself how to do it for those occasions where a customer lost a key or we needed to get into a unit without destroying the door. BUT, you have to know exactly what you're doing. You have to know how the lock works, you need a drill of the proper type and size, and a couple of specialized pry tools (bent screwdrivers in our case), and a hammer. Even if you do know exactly how to do it, it takes a minimum of 15 minutes, and makes a HUGE amount of noise.Honestly, for this price you can't go wrong. Its shape imposes limitations on use that padlocks are less susceptible to, but if they work for your application, I believe they are more secure than padlocks.
