Nice heat mat
It is a little pricey but it's a very good quality product. I use it for a 50LB Tortoise who is outside in a large dog house. But I live in Southern California so we really don't get super cold temperatures. it keeps the dog house around 55 deg F when its 38 deg F outside. So the Tort is happy. I would recommend this product.

Monitor Lizards Love Them
I bought these to replace heat emitters/bulbs for my Monitors. The "emitters" were eating up electricity and were limited in area heated. The entire surface of these "pads" will hit the desired temp.My Ackies use the 18" one and my Argus uses the 48" version. And I "think" they use about half the power of an emitter. These are far easier to move around vs heat lamps hanging from the ceilings. You will need to purchase a temp probe with temp control.I recommend this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098PZ23DD?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsI can not see myself ever going back to heat emitters or bulbs.Love these things.

Gentle warmth for the gentle lizard
Bought this to keep my full grown iguana warm in his outdoor enclosure. I keep it on all day and night. The heated pad is warm to the touch but not scalding hot. My iguana sleeps on it and lays in it when he's cold during the day. I did get the rheostat to better regulate the heat and I put the approved cover to make it softer for him to lay on. Has lasted since December 2018.Great option for the conduction heat they require. No more burning rocks for me and my lizard friend. Also, no warping so far, great buy!

Excellent
I’m a beagle breeder and I love these for puppies and geriatric dogs who need warmth. I’ve been using these for years and never had a dog destroy one. I have had to repair/replace the wire/plugs but that was after years of use, normal wear/tear

Simple, durable heat mat
The mat itself is fantastic. The included thermostat is pretty close to worthless - it lets you control how much power goes into the mat, but there's no sensor feedback to adjust for desired temperature, so the actual temperature of the mat is entirely dependent on the environmental conditions. Normally I buy the ones with digital thermostats, but they were out of stock and I needed something in a hurry.

Its sturdy and warm
I ordered for my rescue tortoise "Fluffy". Dont laugh it's the name he came with and responds to. It was 10 days late arriving due to wildfires or Covid or other excuses. I ordered a 2nd one but the first package arrived before the 2nd was shipped. My ungrateful tortoise sleeps next to it instead of on it. It may not be cold enough outside yet or he just doesnt like it. I'll update my review when Fluffy tells me or the weather drops 20 more degrees at night.

You can buy a temp control for this.
First time out of the box was used to save this little guy. You can buy a temperature control/ timer for it also. I will definitely be getting one of those. Be careful not to bake your critters with any of these warmers. Loved this and would buy it again.

Still the best.
This is my second Kane mat for my large boa constrictor. The first one lasted over ten years of continuous use, but some of the heating elements have been failing for the last couple of years. I am glad to see there is now a rheostat model, and the rheostat is grounded, as it should be. The new mat works as expected. The seller shipped me the wrong model (without rheostat) and very promptly resolved the issue by sending me the missing part, and making sure I had received it.
