Best yogurt ever
Due to a change in my dietary needs, I have been looking for plain yogurt made with oat milk. I may as well have been hunting for the gold of the Aztecs. I have an Instant Pot with a yogurt setting, so I decided to just make my own.An internet search found this company, and I then discovered that I could get the starter kit here on Amazon. It took two tries. It turns out that the automated yogurt process isn't quite so automatic, and the first batch didn't turn out. Add the fact that my eyes are bad, and I can't really see the little numbers on the dial thermometer all that well... Ah well, the way-too-thin results made pretty good pudding once corn starch was added. For Take Two, I found a post on the manufacturer's blog that gave very precise instructions for making vegan yogurt in the Instant Pot. I used a digital thermometer (nice big read-out), and carefully heated the milk on the stove in a pan rather than using the automated "boil" setting. Aside from those details, I followed the blog post precisely. The result was, at first, almost solid. Not like yogurt at all, just one big lump. I thought I'd messed up again, but went ahead with the rest of the process, anyway. Refrigerated overnight, "whey" separated out (is it technically "whey" if you use oat milk?). I recall reading somewhere that if your yogurt turns out lumpy or separates in the fridge, just toss it in the blender for a few whirls. I did so.OMG. Smooth, creamy, mild, delicious. It's the best yogurt I've ever had. It's perfect as-is--so tasty that it really doesn't even need flavoring or sweeteners. I will absolutely be buying refills on the starter culture and pectin. This is my go-to yogurt from now on, no more worries about the sugar content in commercial brands. If you are looking for a plant-based home-made yogurt, I think you will be as happy as I am with Cultures for Health.

Worked wonderfully with home made almond milk
A great kit; as a complete novice yogurt maker I appreciated getting everything I needed at once. I did not invest in a yogurt maker but used a rice cooker to incubate one batch with fabulous results, and just a warm oven and jars wrapped in towels also with great results. I have only tried with my own home made almond milk and I am so grateful to have a way to produce sugar free dairy free yogurt that is actually delicious. If you're looking for a low cost way to bring vegan yogurt back into your life this kit does the trick.

Results were good
Followed all directions completely and the yogurt turned out great. The only thing I will change is maybe letting it go 10 hours instead of 8 to get a more tangy yogurt. I first used the instapot as is without using containers and the results weren't good, second attempt I used jars inside the instapot and it turned out perfect.

Easy as pie
Bought it to get the Bulgaricus culture in our Yogurt. It's easy to use, and comes with a quite useful organic cotton nut milk bag which we use to make Yogurt cheese and a thermometer (we don't use the magnesium or pectin). While suitable for Vegan Yogurt, we use it with 1% cow milk and after 12 hours in the maker and over night in the fridge, the acidity and consistence is to our liking.

Didn't work with nut milk
Tried to use this with homemade coconut milk and it was digusting. Will try with lactose-free milk and update then

Very disappointed.
Yogurt never did set up. I followed all directions to the letter. I used my Brodt and Taylor proofer. Very disappointed.

Another fun kit to start out on an adventure in culturing
Another fun kit to start out on an adventure in culturing. I used it with canned coconut milk in my Instant Pot and the yogurt came out great.
