They Work!
GM-2 Color Blind Corrective Glasses (Color Blind Glasses)These were purchased as an experiment for my 2 year old son, so we could gauge his reaction to red and green objects, colors he was never able to properly identify. While we understand his comprehension of the full spectrum of color is still developing, his response to wearing these glasses was worth noting. He walked around our yard, raising and lowering them, questioning every color he saw and correctly identified varying shades of both colors. He was also able to correctly assemble a color wheel puzzle, so we may be onto something! To test these glasses out, I took them to my office to share with a friend who confirmed they were red-green color blind. Their reaction to our company logo, a co-workers shirt, and even some hand sanitizer we had sitting in the lobby were worth the purchase itself. He was able to identify colors that he was otherwise unable to see and said the colors were bold and bright. Thank you for making these so affordable! The only complaint I even have is the red tint to the frames distort other colors (white becomes pink, blue becomes purple, darker blues become black, etc). I hope one day for affordable clear frames that look like ordinary glasses, that make all colors vivid and beautiful for those who need it :)

Almost perfect.... I returned my EnChromas and kept these.
I have moderate-strong protanopia. I returned my EnChromas and kept these. Yes, you read that right. For me, here's how they stack up.EnChromas are very subtle and very dark (like sunglasses). Enchromas helped me to make greens brighter, and reds deeper... but not until I compared those with these GM-2 classes, did I understand that red is pretty amazing. With these GM-2s I can now pass an Irisihara test with a passing score or sometimes mild protan at worst. These lenses are very rose colored, and will unfortunately tint the sky, whites and everything else rose (your eyes can adjust to it somewhat, but not entirely). So my advice to anyone who wears or tries these, take things with a grain of salt. I had to face the fact that even though these glasses help me and could help you, at the end of the day we're still colorblind and will never truly, accurately see red and colors that have red in them. This will help reds to stand out, but add too much rose to many other colors. These glasses, while not perfect, have changed my life for the better. I hope he'll come out with other styles and maybe a more subtle color or indoor lens. The price is a no-brainer, EnChromas were also way too expensive for how little benefit I got from them. As this is truly a genetic case of protanopia, I bought my maternal uncle who has the same medium-strong protanopia a pair, and he has had the same results.

Seeing the world through rose colored lenses
For decades I have lived with a double whammy - color blind and extremely near-sighted. For those in the know my dioptre numbers were -11.25 and -9.5 which is pretty bad. That was corrected in 1997 with Lasik surgery in Canada (the US, or at least Michigan, was not performing Lasik on eyes as bad a mine at that time). The surgery was an ah-hah moment which literally brought my wife to tears and a huge smile on my face the next day. Fast forward to this week. I was extremely skeptical about these glasses but based on reviews thought it would be interesting to try. All I can say is my world has been rather bland. It is hard to describe to a non-color blind person what I see because I do see color but would confuse pink and gray, purple is really non-existent, teal is nothing, a green traffic light at night on a street with a lot of street lights would blend in, a blinking red and blinking yellow were very hard to tell apart, and a stop sign would blend in with the greenery. Last night I got home around midnight and saw the glasses had arrived. Put them on and noticed some colors popping out although there was a reddish tint to many things. I had downloaded several color blind tests onto my phone off of google and took them. The first was the standard circle-dot-number test that I have always struggled finding any of the numbers in. Wow! I nailed them all, it was mind-boggling how clear most of them were and how the numbers disappeared when I took the glasses off, even knowing where the numbers were. The other test is called Color Blind Check. Without the glasses my CBC score was 2193, severity 88 (strong) and PDT 0-14-1 - red-green color deficiency. With the glasses my score was 3454, severity 16/100 (slight), and PDT of 0-0-1. Fast forward to this morning - colors are popping and very distinct. My red Edge which I always thought was burgundy is a bright red, and lo and behold green traffic lights are really, really green not a washed out wanna-be green. Stop signs are very distinct and I was marveling at the willow trees with the buds starting to grow (it is Michigan and Spring comes later than you southerners out there experience). Bottom line is I am very impressed with the world I have been missing. It still may not be what you normal sighted people are seeing but it is much more vibrant than I thought. Well worth the price.
