My camera was getting overheated this summer from the Sun so I got this little guy and now it is protected and my camera still works great thank you so much this was the answer to my problem!

Better than Expected
We purchased six of these cameras and since we have never had security cameras before, we can't assure you that they are the best when compared to others. The picture quality is as shown during the day. At night, it isn't as good, but I think that is to be expected. If your camera is in a high traffic area, the battery will NOT last that long. In our case, with two people in the house, the camera at the front door is probably good for three months or so. The cameras' batteries installed away from the house last much longer. I have noticed that sometimes the front door camera misses recording altogether. It doesn't happen often, but I have walked out the door and not been recorded. We had to get a WIFI extender to reach the back of our property, and I think we will need another since the camera on the back porch is oftentimes offline. The cameras have spotlights that are supposed to turn on when activated by motion; one of ours doesn't. I did call customer support and found that they were helpful in troubleshooting issues. All in all, we are satisfied with this purchase.

Good camera protection
I purchased this item last month to shade one of my home security cameras that is mounted on the back of my house in north GA. During summer months the sun shines mercilessly on that part of my home for most of the day (rear of home faces south) and I wanted to protect my home security investment. This metal shade is perfect, blocks out the direct sunlight without impeding the camera lenses and provides good rain protection as well. Installation was a breeze; 3 screws and it's done.

Covers well, but causes night vision problems, camera can't focus.
