How many calories per bag? Also, would like to see ingredients. Just corn, or any oils or preservatives?

Hi Frau,

Each Popzup Popper has 12 popcorn kernel pouches and each of the 12 pouches pops 10 cups of popcorn (120 cups popped popcorn per Popzup Popper total). There is always 31 calories in all "air popped popcorn" or popcorn with nothing added. So there is 310 calories for each pouch of popcorn.

Labels can be confusing but a good rule is that every cup of popped popcorn always starts with 31 calories. Anything that is added like oil or seasoning will add to the total calories.

Popzup Popcorn is just popped popcorn with nothing added. So it is just popcorn kernels. All Popzup Popcorn and seasonings are clean without chemicals, preservatives, flowing agents, or flavors of any kind other than real ingredients.

Where does the popcorn come from? Is it non-gmo?

Hi Nolan,

Popzup Popcorn is grown on a 4th generation family owned and operated popcorn kernel farm in Pennsylvania (where I grew up). They are great people who care about the land, the environment,  and the people that work for them. The popcorn kernel seeds that they use to grow the popcorn plants are certified non-GMO and "closed loop" meaning that they cannot be pollinated from other plants that can be gmo (genetically modified). They invested in sustainable operations like solar panels, a damn for water and energy on a small river that runs through their property, they use equipment that has been on the farm for generations but updated with energy efficient motors , they even purchased a local train station that was closed so they can take advantage of energy savings through diesel powered trains to transport popcorn. They help to keep small farms in the hands of local farmers by hiring them to grow popcorn kernels on their own farms, because of the growing demand. They always give these local farmers enough money to prosper even in times when popcorn is at a low price, so that their neighbors can keep their farms.

I am a bit confused?  i get this box which will pop 12 bags of popcorn at once?  i want to try but dont need that much popped popcorn?  mm

You pop 1 bag at a time which pops the same amount of popcorn as in a large conventional microwave bag. Since there are 12 bags that come in the popping box, you will get the equivalent of 12 large conventional microwave popcorn bags, without the chemicals & plastic. Just pour the kernels from 1 bag into the reusable, expandable, compostable/recyclable popping box. Then put it on the edge of your microwave plate so it moves as it pops in your microwave (this eliminates the need for the plastic susceptor imbedded into conventional microwave popcorn bags). The Popzup Popper expands and fills with hot, fresh, delicious popcorn. Thank you for your question!

Can I use other kernel brands in the popper?

Popzup Popcorn Kernels are gourmet golden butterfly variety that pops big & crunchy. The Popper is designed to fill completely with the popcorn variety that's included. You can pop other brands of kernels in the popper but it may not pop as well. Start with 1/3 cup of the best quality, American grown, non-GMO popcorn kernels that you can find and follow the instructions on your Popzup Popper or the FAQ's page at popzup.com.
