Perfect for turkey hunters! Protects you hearing while enhancing sounds!
Perfect for turkey hunting! Saves you hearing while enhancing sounds!I suffer from Meniere's disease, which means my left ear is down to 60% and ringing, my right ear is down to 90% and I want to keep them both from getting worse. For years, i have struggled with locating the direction of sounds out in the woods, especially when trying to locate those faint gobbles and hens. Now add to that having to put on protection once you are getting ready to make a shot.... too much movement unless you are in a blind! This year, i finally used these to hunt (i thought I had lost them) and was able to hear sounds now lost to me! I was able to wear them for hours while finally being able to locate all the sounds and their direction. When the time came to take the shot, i forgot i even had them on! Now you can finally hunt with hearing protection and not lose any situational awareness! My only suggestion would be to use a different type of battery that can be recharged (like a 18650). They already sell a rechargeable model but not sure how long they last or if the battery can be swapped as it runs out.

good hearing protection
They do exactly what they should. They muffle the sound of guns, and other noise. I'm able to hear conversations at the gun range with no trouble, while gunshots are quiet. They're good in a woodshop too, provided you turn down the ambient noise amplification (shop tools are often just below the threshold where they cut out, but still loud enough to warrant ear protection, since they're sustained). Bluetooth pairing could be a bit slicker, but it's good enough.

Work well, but not rechargeable
Works well while on the range, muffles out gun noise, but you can hear people on other end of range talking. Haven't used bluetooth yet so I can't ad anything for it. Only wish it was rechargeable instead of using 2 aaa batteries to run.

The Bluetooth functionality left a lot to be desired
When looking to upgrade from passive, to active ear protection, one brand always came up. Walker. I'm general, their name lives up to their reputation. The ability to dampen gunshots while enhancing quiet ones allows you to not only speak to others at a shooting range, but they will enhance your ability to hear whatever game you may be hunting. My big complaint: the Bluetooth feels like it was added just to be another checkbox. The quality of the audio is so bad that it can only be used for listening to people talk. Whether that's a podcast or a phone call, is up to you. At least pairing it was pretty simple. Then you have the two knobs, one for overall ambient audio, and the other the Bluetooth. The fit and build quality are acceptable. I got a fat head and it can cater to it just fine. It's also nice and sleek, so that's a plus.Ultimately, it's great value for the price.

Out of box review
This review is written before any range use. With that said, so far, these are great they function exactly as expected. The Bluetooth connects easily and functions perfectly. Regarding Bluetooth the complaints I see the most are that the sound quality is poor. Since these are not designed to be music headphones I think the negative reviews on this part are unfair. On mine, I turn the Bluetooth all the way up and can hear the music perfectly well and depending on the song and how it was recorded and released I sometimes need to turn it down because it’s to loud. No there is no deep bass on these little speakers but where there is a bass line in the music you can hear it just fine. Calls come in loud and crystal clear as well. Pretty sure that’s what the Bluetooth was created for anyway, as good as the quality is on calls. I tested the range on the Bluetooth within the walls of my house. Leaving my phone in one room (door closed) and walking down the hall to the furthest room approximately 30 feet away I never lost connection, not even a stutter. And concerning the sound enhancement and noise canceling? The sound enhancement is great, feels like I have super hearing. I don’t have the best hearing to begin with, no where near the point of needing hearing aids, but I’ve suffered a little loss over the years I’m sure. Concerning the loud noise canceling and the passive noise blocking from the padding on the cans? That also works great the padding alone blocks a lot of sound. I banged two pots next to my ears while using the noise canceling and heard nothing other than the little bit of noise that made it through the padding itself. So that part is at least functioning properly and I am assuming would do it’s job just fine at the gun range or out hunting. While hunting you could no doubt hear even the little tiny creepy crawlies without any issues. Would never go hunting without them. Over all these are great, glad I bought them. But shipping on these was the worst! I don’t know the reason but it took 2 months to get them. It claimed before purchase that this would be case, so I knew what to expect. But that’s still terrible imo. Especially since now I see the shipping is only a few days wait so yeah that sucked. I like the profile, weight, comfort, protection, they seal around the ears nicely and the amount I paid for them was I bit high but not out of control. I’m a cheapskate to begin with so everything is overpriced to me. But IMO around $80.00 is fair for these. Also no complaints on the quality of the build at all.
