Can you provide the diameter of the shaft, as well as the width of the bit?

The shaft is about 1/8" and the bit 3/8". These are very thin keys. One style of the two pack fits and works perfectly in my 1930's locks. I will say I first bought some skeleton keys at my hardware store which were thicker and they did not work, in fact got stuck in the locks.

The keys are not hollow but they are on the slender side when compared to actual keys. They do have nice finish.

How can I determine if these keys will fit in a lock on an old door?

They fit most doors. Skeleton keys are pretty universal. My house was built in the early 1900s and they fit. If you also have older house you may want to oil the lock. If they don’t turn it the lock could be defective. But in summation, if it’s a skeleton lock it should work
