Not only is it cordless, it's versatile enough to do many many different types of projects and if you already own BLACK & DECKER tools... YOU'RE ALL SET, POWERED UP! It drains VERY little power during use and lasts a long time. There is another B&D sander available BUT I highly recommend this one over the other cordless model. Although I probably will end up buying the other one and have both. Just remember to keep up stock on the various grit papers so you have everything you need. ALSO be sure to buy the large double power batteries to extend your usage. Look for 3.0mah, 4.0mah, 5.0mah, 6.0mah, 6.5mah, 7.0mah, 7.5mah & 8.0mah DOUBLE POWER batteries that are compatible with Black & Decker tools.You won't regret it.

I'm a senior widow with arthritic hands that can't manage what they did years ago. My new home has a lovely deck on the back overlooking the mountains. While it was ing ood condition, I saw a few places that were starting to peal as decks do. I read up on several small cordless sanders and this seemed to fit the bill.It was easy to charge and assemble. Instructions were clear and a variety of sand paper was included. I was sanding in no time. The charge held through the hour or two I worked on the railings and would have gone longer had I needed it too. I can't say if it will work all day as I tend to work a few hours at a time. The description noted less sawdust and residue so that was appealing as well. That didn't seem to be totally accurate but the dust wasn't enough to interfere with my task. The sander worked well and was easy for me to manage so I can recommend it to those needing lighter weight tools that are effective on small jobs.

We have an arbor that needed to be sanded, primed and painted. The contractor quoted $450. I decided to do it myself. I have a corded sander and wanted to have a battery powered one. I read a number of reviews and chose this B&D model. I couldn't be more pleased. I've added photos of the arbor (before and after). This sander had enough power for me to sand the entire arbor twice (2 different grits). The best part was the design (like an iron). I was able to get between most of the lattice. For the sections I couldn't reach I added the finger attachment and reached every section. I couldn't have done this with my corded sander nor could I imagine trying to do this by hand. I strongly suggest you purchase the ASTOR 50 piece Mouse Detail Sanding sheets ($10.99). This will give you a supply of various grits. If you want a battery operated sander for DYI - this is the one.

Excellent tool. Very handy not having to trail a power cord. I have not used it yet, but I have every confidence that it will be up to my expectations

I bought this to tackle an area in my bathroom where the paint had peeled and found it so easy to use. I did not expect that it would be as light to hold as it is and it makes very little mess at all. Not a handy person but this sander did the job I had easily and looked great when done. Any woman can easily maneuver it and will be delighted to see how great it works.
