warm and enjoyable
I really loved this book! The bright pictures and fun story made the traditions of Greek Easter come alive. It's a great mix of learning and enjoyment, with recipes and interesting facts I can't wait to share with my friends. Some parts felt a little too serious for kids, but overall, it was warm and enjoyable.

I Loved This Little Book
I loved this little book; the cover Illustrations and colorful pink blossoms on the trees drew me to it and I had been researching about Greek Easter to understand when it is, how it is calculated on a different calendar and how it is celebrated, and Clean Monday and their dates for Advent and everything about it in order to be able to have the right gifts and timing, etc. for a Greek family I know, I already bought a great kite and loved the reference to Clean Monday in the book since I had just read about it on line...I will buy the other book too by the same author and illustrator...this book is great for adults, too and I am gifting it to my Greek friends....of course they know their own traditions but I want them to have this wonderful book and I plan to make red eggs, too!lUstrations and

Easter Journey
This story takes me back to when I was a child growing up in the Catholic church. Indeed, there is a whole journey from the beginning of lent to Easter Sunday. I like how detailed the author explained the Easter tradition. Nice book!

Well done
My neice married a man who is Greek Orthodox, our family was raised Roman Catholic, their twin sons were baptized in the Greek Orthodox faith, I wanted to get something to honor their Orthodox faith as they get close to celebrating Orthodox Easter.

Love it.
This is a great book that shows what leads up to Easter Sunday. My favorite part was about Lazarus being resurrected. This is a great book that teaches people about Jesus.

Engaging and Nostalgic
"Our Very Greek Easter" by Kassi Psifogeorgou, with vibrant illustrations by Laura Mocelin, is an enjoyable and captivating tale that offers a wealth of insight. Through Tom's letter to his friend Alina, we uncover numerous facts about the traditions surrounding a Greek Easter, or “Pascha.” The inclusion of tips and recipes adds a delightful touch. The narrative is both engaging and nostalgic, transporting me to the heart of the beautiful Lenten customs and allowing me to reflect on my own family's traditions. I appreciate the deep spiritual significance woven throughout the story. Reading this book revived so many cherished memories from my childhood as a Catholic and reminded me of the enduring traditions I've upheld over the years. It truly is a wonderful read for everyone.

Not representative of all Greek Easter experiences
Not representative of all Greek Easter culture practices, so I cannot share this book with the intended recipient. Should be called “My Greek Easter” versus “Our very Greek Easter” in my opinion. The author is British and they’re talking about rituals they do in their specific family and a certain area of Greece. Not representative or significantly educational for a child in America with no extended relatives / family to speak of. This is the author’s celebration of their own experience, a somewhat boastful rendition of what they themselves have experienced, for the intended age group - keeping that in mind, of course. Sorry to be so critical; just can’t share this sort of thing as a “very reflective” Greek Easter experience because it is not - it’s what I was expecting bc of the title. Every family is different and we are not homogeneous. As an editor, there are some ideas on how I could fix this but it would be a completely different story. So sorry for this blunt comment, but other readers should know it’s not a book representative of each part of Greece - it’s a specific person’s individual experience.
