Encona Carolina Reaper Hot Sauce 142ml

Nice taste and heat, but I find the original and extra hot versions better..

This is one of the tastiest hot sauces I have tasted. It is more akin to a tomato relish than a traditional hot sauce. It is extremely spicy but it also has depth of flavour that other hot sauces just don't have, it's not all just heat.It works great on burgers without overpowering it and destroying your taste buds.

Sauce is full of flavour, hot but less than expected.

It's an anti-climax, this sauce. I've used Encona for decades and their original Hot Pepper Sauce (it wasn't called "Original", then) properly tested your mettle. Not to be trifled with. I think they've toned it down over the years, as the marketing department figured out more and more ways of making it brand-friendly. Pity. Nowadays you have to buy their "Exxxtra Hot" to get the authentic Encona heat buzz.You certainly won't get it from their Carolina Reaper sauce. This just feels like a poseur's trophy sauce, to make the boys feel all macho about having "the world's hottest chili" on their table. In reality it's far too sweet for that, like a sugary chili-and-tomato ketchup.Very disappointing.

The smell

Sauce is brilliant so 5/5 but I found it at the corner store for £1.00 after i received the package so probably I'll stick with that
