I cut it in half and tyvek taped the raw edges and now I have 2 pads that fit perfectly under my ground pad for that little extra R-value in super cold weather. No more cold spots while sleeping and I have an extra for when a buddy wants to tag along.

A little delicate on the seams but does insulate well. We used it in freezing temperatures but not on snow or ice. Perfect size for two people.

Didn't get to use it because when it came, it was much larger than I expected. Knew right away that it wouldn't fold down how I needed it for backpacking. It's super, super light, though! That's the added bonus. Had to return.

Very pleased with this insulation pad. Entire pad with bag only weights 6.5 ounces. I plan to cut in half for two separate insulation barrier under my sleeping pad. So at 3 ounces each pad it is a great option to give yourself a little extra protection under your sleep pad and help with a little extra warmth. The pad is very thin, so it will not provide any extra cushion, but will reflect some heat back towards you. Throw it on top of your sleeping bag on super cold nights for more insulation. Has many funtions, but it does appear to be fragile, so be delicate.

We went camping this weekend, and it got down to about 39. Tents don't normally hold a lot of heat in, even when using a mini heater. These things kept me toasty, and I'm normally a very cold person. It held and transferred heat between myself, husband and dog. My daughter woke up sweating at one point! You've gotta get these if you are going to be cold weather camping or out in the cold just to wrap around you.
