A beast with power to spare!
I used to have a portable impact driver but the batteries had failed and were too expensive to replace. In addition, it didnt have the power I needed for some jobs. We have old cast iron drain pipes in the house and sometimes the access plugs become rusted tight from age. When its time to clean out the pipes with a powered snake, those plugs need to be removed. The one behind the washer was frozen tight and would not budge. Even my 36 inch pipe wrench would not budge it. After reviewing a few of the corded units online, I found the Porter Cable unit to be the answer to my problem. 450lbs of torque should be able to crack anything. When I used the impact driver on the cap, it came off in less than 2 seconds. Impressive! This should also make easy work on my auto projects like taking the wheels off and loosening rusted nuts and bolts.

Gets those studs out in no time!
Gets those studs out in no time! This thing is big and weighs a good deal, and feels like a monster. To be honest a bit overkill for my compact car studs, but it gets them out in no time

Inexpensive workhorse
I bought this with the intention of changing all struts to my 2004 Honda CR-V. This wrench performed admirably. A couple of seized bolts halted progress, but bigger air wrenches couldn't get them off either, so it definitely wasn't the fault of the unit. With the right penetrant to help(I ended up using acetone and ATF fluid in a 50/50 mix, sprayed onto the seized bolt), this wrench is unstoppable. Are there features I wish it had? Sure - it's only got one speed in each direction. It's pretty large and heavy. And obviously it being corded means you have to be tethered to an extension cord. But for the price? Come on... I dare you to do better.Yes, the size is huge and it can be cumbersome in tight spots. That's why you get extension bars and swivel bars. Even with the smaller units, you'll eventually need this stuff anyways because not even the smallest of units can get into the tightest of spots. The job was a success, and now I have a good impact wrench that makes quick work of changing tires, and makes for a lot of help with any other task you can throw at it.Just be sure to get a good socket set. I got a regular metric and deep metric (Hondas are all about the metric - obviously get what's suitable for your situation), along with an extension bar set and swivel. All of these accessories can be had for about $40~50 total. So for $130 you have an impact wrench with plenty of power, can handle any socket you need, and with the extension bars and swivel, it can handle any tight spots that inevitably come up. And yes, it's corded but hey - it means you never have to charge it. :)UPDATE - After my initial purchase this thing has now helped me replace front lower control arms, sway bar end links on my Honda Odyssey, and has helped me do a couple of brake jobs as well. Still has no problem taking big bolts off. Best $80 tool I've purchased.

Awesome price, a little heavy, but an awesome tool
Just used it today for taking off the blades on my riding lawnmower, worked like a charm. It is a little heavy though, but I don't see why you need to be handling it all day either.

The Best Adult Purchase I Have EVER Made!
I have no idea why I waited until I was 44 years old to make this purchase. You could classify me as an independent woman. I was raised by a father who was a mechanic and a Marine. I followed in his footsteps and spent 20 years in the Corps. He taught me how to use tools to repair and fix things so that I never needed to ask for help. So, you could understand my frustration when I need to change a flat tire on my zero turn mower and despite all my knowledge and determination, I cannot get the nuts off the bolts. I used every trick in the book. WD40, using a hammer on the socket wrench, two hammers on the nut, extending the socket wrench and attempting to use my leg with force... it would not budge. Now my Dad was a strong man so he never owned an impact wrench. Even with being a heavy equipment mechanic, the man just never owned one. I came to the realization that I could never use my lawn mower again or I could order an impact wrench. Asking for help isn’t happening. This tire was NOT going to get the best of me. So... I dropped the money to buy this impact wrench. I have no idea WHY I didn’t purchase one of these in my 20s. My dad also had a saying - work smarter, not harder! It’s absolutely ridiculous how easy this impact wrench is to use. I changed the tire on the mower in 3:41. I timed it. That included using the Jack from Traverse to get it up in the air and lower it. I don’t even want to think of all the times in my life that I could’ve used this impact wrench and been done with my project that much quicker! I did go ahead and buy a deep socket set from Amazon to go with this as the bit at the end of the wrench does not fit my other sockets. I decided to store the impact wrench and sockets in my Traverse where my jack is with an extension cord so that if I ever get a flat tire on the side of the road I can break this bad boy out and look like the pit crew at a NASCAR race. If I ever need it before then I know exactly where it is. Seriously, this was money well spent! If you need an impact wrench, this is going to get the job done.
