Is the product new in an unopened container
We have 10 of these sensors around our building so I am familiar with how they work and how to program the sensors. The box had been opened before and tapped shut because edges were ripped. All parts were there. 2 of the 3 programming modes worked. I could not get it out of the disabled mode even with a new battery. This tells me the sensor was returned because it didn't work and it was sent to me. Shipment was several weeks late.

Inaccurate Description
Description says it turns lights on and off. Thanks to California, Lutron makes a version that only turns lights off. This is that version. If you like to walk into a room and be instantly reminded how much control the government has over your life, this is the product for you.

Warning: NOT an occupancy sensor
This is a special version made to comply with california laws requiring vacancy only product. The standard LRF2-OCR2B can be set as with vacancy or occupancy sensor. This one they removed the setting and it is vacancy only (you cannot set lights to automatically turn on when you enter the room)

Qualified use
Countdown does not begin unless some moving and/or heated object is no longer detected. This device will not turn off lights, or whatever, unless they were turned on manually within range of this sensor. In other words, its utility in conjunction with a remote switch is limited.
