I recently tried the open ear version of these domes and found them to be extremely comfortable. Unlike the ones provided by my audiologist, these do not bother my ears after a few hours. I normally wear open domes, but like to have a closed dome in certain noisy environments (e.g., concerts, airplanes, etc.). I listen to audio books and will choose the dome that best fits my environment. My only concern was to make sure I got the right size. Fortunately, I lucked out and the 7mm are ideal for me. Even though I can get my domes for free from my audiologist, I prefer to pay a few dollars (compared to the price of the hearing aids) for the comfort of these domes. Cannot yet speak on their durability, but they seem to be sturdy and pliable.

A little small for my ears, if in doubt, order the 9mm also as I did. This is a real good design and cuts out background noise
