Pretty good stuff
I needed a pair of steel toe boots for stagehand work. I was testing the waters when I took up the position. I didn't know how long I'd be doing this kind of work, so I didn't want to spend tons of money for something I'd use for just a short period of time. (Quality steel toe boots are typically spendy.) At the same time, I didn't want a cheap pair either because cheap = low quality. I learned it the pretty hard way after my nice-looking $25 pair of steel toe boots fell apart after just about eight months or so. That said, I'm so glad I've found a pair of Cat Echo that was easy on the wallet. I scored a great deal on a used one here on Amazon. It was most likely gently used or previously had never been worn at all since it practically looked and felt brand-new. So far, it's a good pair of boots. Sure, it's not as comfortable as wearing slippers, but it has plenty of cushion, which makes it a lot easier for me to stand and walk for long periods. I don't even have to buy extra cushioned insoles. The pair also looks stylish. It also fits me just fine. It feels roomy for my narrow, small feet. I've read complaints in this review section on how it's too narrow for some people, but I have no issues whatsoever. Everybody is different, and every body is different. The only issue is that I hurt my ankle when I tightened up the laces, but I've found that if I lace the boots loosely but securely, I'm pretty much OK. It looks like this pair of boots is pretty versatile. I plan to use it for hiking too.

Really great but Nail went through
These boots are very comfortable. I bought these to go volunteer for disaster relief. I had surgery a year ago on my ankle, these kept me sturdy and safe on very rough, wet/muddy terrain. I loved the waterproofing so I could rinse my boots from contaminants at the end of the day. I even fell through a floor and my ankle was safe.My only complaint is that I thought it had a steel shank to keep me safe from nails. A nail did go through the sole. Are these now not water resistant because of this hole? Are they still safe to use? I’d appreciate a response from Cat as these weren’t cheap.Pardon the bloody boot pic, that’s at the hospital after I feel through a rotted floor. Thankful my ankle was safe.

Not even waterproof when walking in wet grass!
I’ve only used these boots for about a month to work around the barn and fields. They aren’t waterproof and they look terribly worn considering their light use. (Just walking around a farm, no construction debris, no abrasives). I’m disappointed. Keeping my feet dry when walking through wet grass shouldn’t be a problem for “waterproof” boots.

Fantastic full-height boot, Fits well, supportive, and durable, with no chafing at boot top
Fantastic boot!Bought these for my daughter, who likes full-height boots while hiking for the ankle support, and for their anti-bug capabilities. The top of the leg on this boot has an Anti-chafe soft leather collar, which works well to alleviate discomfort where it rubs your leg. Steel toe protects your toes, and the ankle support is excellent. Note: due to the construction and height of the boot, expect to have to break them in gradually over several weeks: these are not buy-and-wear boots suitable for an immediate long hike. You will need to break them in gradually. Also, you should learn a boot knot suitable for round laces, or simply double-knot the round laces: they have less friction than flat laces, and will loosen over a day of walking without a more substantial knot.

So Much Pain
These are absolutely as cute as they are in the customer review pictures, and that's the only good thing I'll say about these boots.I gave these things everything I had to break them in or make them comfortable in any way possible. Thick socks, orthotics of every shape and size, everything. NOTHING made these boots bearable enough to be wearable. If I had sized up two sizes and wore huge clown shoes I might have been able to squeeze enough cushion in them to make them decent. They are literally like walking on hundred year old concrete with a sheet of steel one foot thick for cushioning.I am not on my feet all day, I'm mostly at a desk. I cannot imagine working all day, every day in these things on my feet. One time I had to be on my feet in these things for three 10 hour days, it took two weeks for my ankles and knees to de-swell to their normal size. And this was after "breaking them in" for months. After that I can't even stand to look at these shoes. I wish I could return them so bad.If you absolutely must get these, size up 2 sizes and invest in all the foot cushioning inserts you can. You'll need it.
