We mainly bought this for our kids to use when camping , but it can definitely be used by adults. It worked fine with our 5gallon home depot bucket and double garbage bags so you don't have to clean the seat.

72 HRS Premium Portable Camping Toilet Seat. This toilet seat fits perfect on my 5 gallon paint bucket. At first it feels kinda flimsy but once you attach it to the 5 gallon bucket it pretty sturdy. I weigh 250lb and didn't feel like I was going to break it.I think it will work great for emergency situations. But if you are planning on using it everyday differently get something alittle more heavy duty.

Our main sewer line was down for a week for repair. I couldn't afford to stay in a hotel for a week. This is the solution I've used in the past camping and it got me through the week. To use it you need a standard 5 gallon bucket, your basic kitchen trash liners, and a good brand of kitty litter. I use the world's best kitty litter brand which is light and clumps urine well. The seat is surprisingly comfortable and the height of a 5 gallon bucket is manageable although I put mine on a stool for a little more height. You can use it once or twice then take out the bag throw it away and replace it. Don't use too much kitty litter and don't use it too often before switching out. It's not elegant, but it's a great solution for camping, or emergencies. It's a little bit smaller than a standard toilet seat, but it feels natural, and it work for me even though I'm a big gal. It has both the seat part and a lid part, like a normal toilet. Be sure to keep the top closed when not in use, of course. With a good brand of kitty litter, and changing out frequently, and keeping the lid closed, you shouldn't notice any odor.Even if you wouldn't use this at home, for A Home of urgency as I did, it's an excellent option for camping somewhere that out houses aren't available. You should pack out your waste, for environmental reasons... or at least use an environmentally friendly cat litter and bury the waste, and at least pack out the plastic bags. Another option is to use paper bags but it's a little difficult to find ones that fit the 5 gallon bucket. Probably not impossible if you're careful though.
