Perfect Trimmer for ANYONE - Highly Recommended
I have been using gas powered trimmers for 4 decades and was poo pooing electric until recently. I now have several electric tools like a chainsaw, blower, pole saw and now this trimmer. The Greenworks 80V trimmer is a delight to use. It has ample power for trimming grass and regular use. If I am going to need a machine for cutting thickets and saplings I'll take out the BIG Stihl and run it with a blade. But as we all know, nearly 100% of the time all we do is trim is grass. This trimmer has a proper weight distribution and overall is NOT too heavy. The 80V battery balances the cutter head properly and I find the machine is easy to wield however I wish to use it. I am 6'2" and the length of the trimmer suits me just fine with the head just slightly tipped downward at the front. My friend, who it 5'9" sees the head perfectly flat. Overall the machine is comfortable to use.One last note. I have a horde of 80V batteries now but I can trim my whole property (house, garage, LARGE shop and garden/orchard area) on ONE charge. That may change in mid summer when everything is growing like wildfire. For now, one charge does the whole job. This is an excellent and durable tool - Highly Recommended.

Powerful, comfortable-ish
First thing, power! This made me realize how weak my previous battery powered trimmer was. This is a beast.. as powerful as a gas trimmer without that noise level. It is not silent, but the electric driver doesn't seem to make much noise at all, what you mostly hear is the line spinning though air.. can't get rid of that noise.Assembly is OK, I wish they had made a quick release for the support arm instead of the 4 Phillips screws.I am using the 4.0 mAh battery from my mower, I doubt I'll ever run out of battery doing my yard. The bump line feed seems to do the job pretty well.As for comfort, OK but not ideal. It is kind of heavy, specially with the large battery on. I expect a few sore muscles after this.. but, I can finish the task faster, so it might be a wash.

Customer support is horrible - shipping without edge guide, otherwise okay tool
Multiple reviewers comment that it's shipping without the specified detachable edge guide, including mine. The tool also includes an attachment for a shoulder strap, but also not included nor listed as a packed part.Greenworks customer service is only available via webchat or phone that routinely has 30-40 minute waits, and frequently drops in the middle with no option for a call-back. I'll be switching to a responsible company like Stihl.Finishing assembly of the tool was a pain with screws that were very stiff, and it's not fun to try using a screwdriver next to a barely covered blade for the string guard. Allen head screws would have been very much appreciated for that part. After 30+ minutes waiting on hold on the phone plus waiting for a website chat agent, I was told they're out of stock on the metal edge guides til end of June. There is no option for them to automatically ship the missing item when available, I'll simply have to check back then and wait for an agent again.Calling back again two months later with multiple chatbot and phone disconnects, I'm told the part is out of stock again. There is still no way to have them automatically ship the part.On the plus side, they did provide a case # that should have my information, and the agent suggested not trying to contact them on Mondays as it's their busiest time.5 stars if all the parts had been included as it has plenty of power, 1 stars for customer service from Greenworks.

Finally the right one for me
Greenworks products are interesting-- I have never had one fail. I've never had a technical issue, or warranty issue. What I have had is sometimes a slight mismatch between my design expectations and how they solve the issue of weed eating, mowing, etc.In this case, this is not the first weed eater I've had from Greenworks, but this is the first one that:1. Was powerful enough2. Spins up and down fast enough3. Is well balanced enough4. Rotates the proper direction for a right handed person5. Has a spool that taps to replenishThis was my first foray into the 80V world, coming from the 40V world in Greenworks and having many many batteries, chargers and devices. My first reaction: the battery is HUGE. After I got over that, it does perform well, charges very fast compared to the 40V and will be my future in the Greenworks Ecosystem.I'm happy with this product which finally meets all of my hopes of a weed eater and helped bridge me to the new 80V world.
