would say it is a very good replacement

It was difficult to remove my old Cylinder from my gaming chair, but once that was done, this new one went in super easy. It fits like a glove and gives my chair more height if I want, but also is adjustable to my comfort level. This is much stronger than my original one, now I can eat even more and exercise less without worrying about my chair.

I kept looking at new chairs, event ventured out into the IRL world to an office store, and discovered that my 25+ year old chair is actually pretty great compared to the new stuff (it's a fairly high end made-in-Canada chair), apart from the fact that the height adjustment would have me sinking until I felt like a toddler trying to reach the keyboard. This was an easy replacement, though it took more than a few hits with a big hammer to remove the old gas strut from the chair. Once the old one was out, it was super easy to put the new one in. It's firmer than the old one (probably because it's rated to 1000lb) but that's fine. Hopefully good for another 20 years!
