Best coffee from a filter dripper I have had, easy pour, easy clean.
We are in the process of setting up a new home and wanted to find an alternative to a large and expensive coffee machine. I knew of the individual cup filter dripper option so we decided to give this Hario V60 (size 2) japanese product a go. I didn't know about this particular brand but the product stood out in the Amazon listing and it came with a matching design (red colour) measuring cup. For the price, it already seemed a good deal.I don't know how to explain it, but using it feels like the filter dripper has decades of thought, design and quality control gone into it.With all the challenges we are facing, it is a pleasure to take a break and use this product because it feels like it has been made with so much caring thought. The dripper sat sturdy on a wide mug. No adjusting needed. I even wondered how much difference the ceramic dripper would make. The plastic one has a heavy feel. The size 2 paper filter fitted the dripper like a glove in a millisecond. It stood against the sides without needing any adjusting. In seconds, I had a creamy looking filter coffee that tasted delicious. The water pour kind of vortexed quickly into the cup without lumping the coffee into "unused coffee islands". The resulting coffee was clear and very strong (just half of the measuring cup for 2 medium mugs). This was the strongest I have ever had with the same coffee brand and filtered, boiled water. Brand new coffee bag.It was very easy to clean and feels like it won't easily scratch or stain at all. I washed it with the soft sponge side but might just use a water rinse in future. Not sure it needs dish soap. The only "challenge" was getting the coffee into the measuring cup, but we have somewhere a glass, sealed lid container with a wide opening to scoop the coffee from, which will be perfect for it.For the price, it is a bargain in my experience: it saves space, makes filter coffee as easy to prepare as instant but a lot more flavoursome and with the true oumph we look for in our daily brew-break.Its quality brings comfort and positivity. It makes you want to care about making the most and the best of the day. Lovely product.

Hario Plastic Coffee Dripper
I bought one of these to use in my workshop before I got a coffee machine and it made a great cup of coffee, with minimal fuss or effort.First off, I recommend you look at some videos online to find the best technique to use this. It takes a little bit of experimenting, but it is worth the effort. This has to be used with cone shaped filters and I recommend unbleached filters for a nicer taste. Place your ground coffee of choice in the bottom and then pour a little water over the grounds for an initial bloom of about 30 seconds, before gently pouring the rest of the water over in a circular motion. We used this over a cafetiere jug, to make enough for us all, but you can just as easily place it on a cup for an individual amount. When you've finished it is extremely easy to put the used filter, with the grounds in it, in the bin and then a quick rinse under the tap and you're ready to go again. This is the easiest way to make a really decent cup of coffee when out camping, when a machine isn't practical, or even if you just want to take a bit of extra time and make coffee where you have a bit more control over the flow and taste.A simple, but effective bit of kit that gives your caffeine kick with minimal hassle.

Good but can do better
Nice product and works well, as described. Next time, however, I think I will look to buy a more premium and environmentally conscious material compared to this plastic product.

It's a life saver.
My heart would have preferred a ceramic dripper, but my purse dictated plastic. however it doesn't feel cheap and flimsy, and has the added bonus of being less likely to chip/crack when my poor tired undercaffeinated hands pick it up first thing in the morning. This thing is a life saver. Really easy to use and gets round that tricky problem of electrified coffee grinds...grind straight into the filter nestled into this little bit of genius and it's a case of 'what static problem?'The only thing to watch out for is that it's a particularly conical cone of a dripper and your bog standard coffee filters won't sit in it properly. You need the Hario filters. I tried making my morning rescue with some old Mellita filters I found lurking in the depths and while coffee was certainly made, they fouled up the grinding process because they sat too high in the dripper. It's barely a problem though. Having now stocked up on the matching accessories I have my eye on a different colour because although I bought a cafetiere for those days when I'm feeling generous enough to share coffee beanswith other family members, I prefer using the dripper - much less washing up involved and who wants more of that?!

Hard wearing and does the job
Had this a few years now a take it everywhere with me for on the go coffee. Design is nice and functional and I like that it’s transparent so you can see what’s going on from the sides. Hard wearing as I’ve bounced this off the kitchen floor more than a few times. Simple device but people always seem really impressed by it!
