Small but does the job
I bought this for sharpening knives and wanted a stone which would be portable but capable of resharpening very dull knives.(Essential for staying in French Gites!) At first trial, this product does the job. The blue, coarse, side is rougher than most dual sharpeners and takes steel off quickly. The smooth side is adequately smooth if, like me, you don't want a glass smooth edge. The dimensions are not exactly as stated on Amazon. It is approx 100mm x 20mm and 6mm thick. This is small to use on a bench, but I prefer to run the stone down the blade and it is comfortably sized for this. The sides are curved to enable the sharpening of serrated edges, but it is a constant curve and so only suitable for some.

Must have for every gardener
Great sharpening stone. Easy to use on your secateurs or other garden tools that need sharpening. It has two grades of grain allowing you to start with medium (blue side) and finishing of with fine (white side). There are plenty of online resources showing how to sharpen tools properly. I found the use of the product very straight forward. I use it periodically on all gardening tools that require sharpening (even from other brands.Sometimes, one does not notice that tolls you use regularly progressively loses their sharpness and edge. My experience is that every time I sharpen my tools, I see a noticeable difference. Cleaner cuts, less effort and pruning becomes a pleasure again.

Fine, but it'd be finer if the fine was finer
Purchased for use whilst backpacking/camping.Theoretically ideal, due to the combination of two grades, compact size, and rounded edges suitable for my recurved knife, and in practice, it will do.The coarse (blue) side, is pretty much exactly what I expected/hoped for, but the "fine" (white) side is a little less fine than I expected. That's not to say it's far too coarse, just not as fine as I'd consider ideal.I'll just have to do a bit more stropping than I'd have liked. Both sides do a good job of grinding, and it's recommended on the card backed blister packaging to clean the stone with soapy water. The stone is somewhat porous, and the addition of water whilst grinding seems to help get a good finish. That then should work out well, IF the "pores" don't get blocked up with ground steel.A smoother, finer ceramic, wouldn't have this possible flaw, and only time will tell if its effectiveness can be maintained. If not, I'll update this review. It's a good stone, but for the price I paid (subject to change of course) I can't honestly say "I love it!".I like it, because for my specific needs, it's the closest to ideal I could find. There simply aren't many similar options, even without counting the combination of two grades.________Another reviewer mentioned that the addition of a protective pouch would be a welcome addition, and I tend to agree. For a relatively small and delicate tool, costing a relatively large amount, something as simple as a velcro fastening webbing bag would have been nice, but that's really neither here nor there. It was never part of the deal, and simple enough to make something suitable. But really Felco? C'mon!

Great little sharpener !
I bought this to sharpen my Felco secateurs but then found it was ideal to sharpen my 2 pair of Wilkinson ones too.Yes, it is a little small but I found this an advantage rather than a hindrance really. It took only 2 strokes to sharpen my Felco but about 6 strokes on my Wikinson ones, but they haven't been sharpened in 30 years !What a difference it made, well worth the money, and it is there when you need it too.
