Quieter than I expected.
I will start with some numbers:It started on the 8th pull on propane, I alternated between two pulls on choke and two pulls on run, on the 8th pull it started.I did bleed the air out of the propane hose before trying to start it, idle was turned Off and it ran unexpectedly smooth and quiet I have to admit that was a pleasant surprise. Sound level no load was 58 to 59 decibels 20 ft away (high speed), it was sitting on concrete. It ran on idle at 3,240 RPMs and 3,860 RPMs at high speed no load.I let it run for about 10 minutes before putting a load on it, first load a heater running at1,380 Watts second load another heater running at 860 Watts. So about 2,240 w at 120 volts, I did not have an adapter during the test to use the 30 amp outlet so I had to run the test out of the 20 amp outlet, I was using about 18.6 amps and I was starting to feel uncomfortable with that number, the outlet was warm and the spades on the extension were hot to the touch so I did not add any more loads, I recommend treating the 20 amp outlet as a 15 amp max outlet to avoid a problem. The engine RPM with the two loads was between 4,260 and 4,280 RPMs, I ran the engine a total of 25 minutes.Full disclosure, I installed an hour and RPM meter myself that's where I got the numbers from, I used a phone app to measure decibelsUPDATE: Feb 4 2025.It started cold on 3rd pull.I now have the 30 amp adapter that I needed and I connected to a 50' extension and back to a 3 outlet - 20 amp connector, I installed 3 Kill a Watt meters and a heater to each one of the 20 amp outlets, I used different heat settings to try different loads,At ~2,720 watts the RPM's were ~4,580, at ~3,100 watts* the RPM's were ~4,610. The generator ran smooth and the green indicator was solid, it ran about 5 minutes at the max load no problems on Propane.* The RPM.s and wattage were variables and I used an average. I had a one hour timer for running time, I removed all loads at the 50 min mark and set the generator on idle speed and let it cool down. I turned it off waited 5 minutes and it started on one pull, turned it off again waited another 5 and it started on the first pull again.I changed the oil while it was hot and used 10W30 full synthetic.I know 1.1 hours prove nothing as far as longevity but it met and slightly surpassed manufacturers specs.118.7 Volts at full load.59.9 Hertz at full load26.12 Amps at full loadI hope this information is found helpful.

Great
This generator has a few quirks, but runs great , 1st quirk do not leave in the full sun ever, needs to be the shade to run the AC, runs on both propane and gas. 2nd quirk and it has been mentioned in other reviews it will vapor lock on gas, easy fix take out the filter on the breather cap so it can breath, the filter is to fine and restricts airflow, runs like a champ on gas without the filter, we have had this generator for 3 years, and recommended to our son to buy one.

Great value without all the bells and whistles
Purchased this for the propane capabilites and not bother with changing the carburetor fuel jet in high altitude. Generator is capable of handling on 13.5 btu A/C with a soft start installed and a 12v refrigerator with gasoline. Lost a few watts on propane, but it handles the mentioned A/C with no issues. Generator is durable if maintenance is done. Worked perfect as described.PROS: Great value. Not heavy even with full tank of gasoline. Turns on easy with gasoline. Recommend premium 93 octane and stabilizer for less issues. COMES WITH oil, spark plug removal tool and other maintenance stuff.CONS: A little difficult to start cold with propane. Slight discoloration spots to removable covers due to contact with internal heat (cosmetic issue). No hourly meter to help with maintenance. Air filter was dry, you have to lightly oil it. Big hands can't fit through spark plug door access. I don't like the screw in type propane hose inlet to the generator. A quick connect type design would make set up efficient. No gasoline fuel meter, have to guess or purchase an extended fuel tank. No ampere or Watt meter.Overall, I recommend this generator. My cons were more of a design improvement.

Horrible customer service
The unit I received would not start. It was not getting power to spark plug. I contacted Pulsar technical service, and the only thing I can say is their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced, which is saying a lot. After jumping through their hoops to prove I actually bought the unit, and no solution on how to fix the problem, it was decided that I return, which means having to drain the gas, salvage original packaging, repack deliver to shipper. They were going to send me a prepaid shipping tag, so after several hours having not received, they said it could take up to three days to process. And then when they receive, then they will decide when to send me a replacement. I had a timeline on installing in my RV. Well that's shot. I am stunned that a company would not jump through hoops to do everything possible to remedy this situation for a dissatisfied a big time inconvenienced customer. Guess will see.

Great propane generator...highly recommend!!!
This thing is awesome...and powerful.Runs on propane (gas also) and is fairly quiet. Not too heavy to lift into a truck bed, especially for a 4000watt.
