Duncan Toys First Yo! - Best Beginner Yo-Yo for Kids, Responsive Yo Yo, YoYo Toy - Green/Yellow

I got this for my 5 year old great grandson. Got the green one-his favorite color. My grandson said he loves it and it’s easy for him to use. He got frustrated with the larger ones with longer string. The finger loop size is good for him and he’s been able to flip it down and up without tangles. Good tension. He is tough on toys and this seems durable. Definitely a good yo-yo for his age and price was great.

Perfect first yoyo! Love that the material isn’t hard plastic so if it gets swung or yanked up too quickly it is a bit safer.

These are fantastic toys that will provide endless entertainment for children—or adults! I haven't found a “soft” yo-yo anywhere else. Truly a one-of-kind product.

As some have said, this is not a great yoyo. Problem with all yoyos is that they eventually go "cockeyed" and once that happens they tangle up and stop. This one goes cockeyed almost immediately probably because of very high friction and very low mass.So why get it? Because it is soft so your kid can't use it as a nun-chuck and hurt themselves or someone else. Plus the string is shorter than a usual yoyo. It does do the very first return cleanly and easily. You can forget about tricks of course.

Bought this for my granddaughter because I played with Duncan yoyo's when I was a kid and know they've been at this for a long time. She had gotten an off brand for her birthday and it lasted all of 2 days before it fell apart. This one is soft sided and works like a yoyo should. She's having a blast.

The construction of the yoyo seems durable, the soft silicone just the right stiffness and is perfect for new players, the description is pretty accurate, as far as I can tell as a seasoned yoyo player there are only two flaws with this this product that need your attention and if you can avoid the first mistake I made you will be in much better shape that I was when I first received this product. When you first unpack the yoyo the string is looped under its self to stop it from being unwound in the package, if you just grab the end of the string and pull you will end up with a knot on the inside of the yoyo that, after one throw, will be so tight you will not be able to remove it. This brings be to the second issue this knot normally would not be a big deal IF this yoyo could be taken apart and serviced but sadly, it is not. If you do manage to unwrap the string correctly. You will find that the yoyo string is double looped. good for new players but it means the yoyo only goes up and down. So when your kid gets better at the up and down part of using a yoyo you can take out one loop and the yoyo will sleep if the string is not too tight. However this yoyo does not have a barring so it will not sleep for long. Once your kid has mastered this yoyo in a few days/week I recommend the Duncan butterfly XT here on amazon for $8 its not squishy like this one but does not suffer from the same flaws as this yoyo.

Perfect starter yo-yo for my son. Easy to use, vibrant color (which is his favorite) and great price. He was pleased to find this in his Easter basket!

This has been the best yoyo for my 4 year old. The string length is perfect for her and she been able to really get it go up and down on her own. The yoto makes a great first! It could be improved with a light up feature but not enough for me to knock any stars off. It’s a great add to an Easter basket or stocking stuffer!
