Plastic and bulky
Just be aware that this is chrome painted plastic. It also sticks out a long way allowing for different depths of outlet behind tile.

The Ideal Standard outlet is better quality (all chromed brass including the cover)
This wall union is quite large and projects much more than expected from the wall-it's much larger than it looks in the images. The outlet cover is also rather flimsy chromed plastic. I expected more from Grohe, especially considering the price. Because of the size I didn't use and bought an Ideal Standard wall union outlet. The Ideal Standard outlet is better quality (all chromed brass including the cover), projects far less from the wall, and is cheaper.

awful cheap looking plastic elbow
For the price and it being Grohe I was expecting a quality chrome elbow. Instead this painted plastic thing arrived which looks awful and cheap and has a weird shape that sticks out too far. I will definitely not use it and buy a proper chrome elbow at a fraction of the price. Very disappointing.

Terrible product. This review has been written some time after purchase but it has rusted and corroded very badly. The Grohe shower control I purchased at the same time is faultless but this accessory really lets their reputation down. I would avoid at all costs as there is a much cheaper alternative on Amazon with glowing reviews.
