Very nice solid, knife. Leather case handy but poorly made. Sharpened very well.

Fabulous.
This knife is excellent for chopping fruit and vegetables, it is also good for slicing meat, it is nice and sharp right out of the box. I don't see the benefit of the pouch because the knife is kept in the kitchen but it comes wi5h knife so all is good. Recommended.

Handmade?
Somehow I feel the 'handmade' element will be more of an assembly operation and not blades and handles being handcrafted. A sharp, curved blade with full tang (the metal that follows on behind the blade and travels through the handle) wooden riveted handle and a leather sheath. Really there should be nothing more that you could want from a knife, but I'm just not blown away by it. The blade was sharp when it arrived, and being curved, it jolly well should be. But it doesn't hold its edge as well as my normal kitchen knives, I'm having to sharpen it regularly. The hammered effect on the back of the blade is a bit 'over-the-top'. I don't believe it serves any purpose other than decoration. I don't need decoration on my knife when I'm using it, especially as you have to be a bit more careful washing it as stray food can snag up in the hammered bits. It's not worth having decoration on the blade when I'm not using it as it is hidden in the sheath. When I buy equipment of any kind I want to be paying for suitability and productivity rather than aesthetics. I'd also rather hang my knives or put them in a block than put them in a sheath. This knife does have a hole in the blade so you do have that option, but you're then paying for a sheath you won't use. If you've got cheap or old knives at home, or are buying for someone just starting out, I think you'd probably be happy with this one. I'm a bit spoiled with the knives I already have so it's not really for me.
