I wanted this for stargazing so it was important that it did not give off white light which ruins one's dark adapted vision.It's actually quite clever as the first press of the button turns the red LEDs on. Then when you have finished using the red light another press of the same button turns it of completely. Great for stargazing!However, if one presses the button once and then again quickly, it goes from red to white and then sequences through three white light options on each quick press of the button. Once you stop pressing the button and use the light, then press again later it turns off completely.This is actually better than my original one that had a slide switch as I would invariably forget which way was red and which white, at some stage during the night!I can highly recommend this head torch!

Really bright white LED light that has good range which you can dim by holding the power button. Red LED has just the right brightness and range also you can adjust the lamp angle by clicking it up or down. Great value for money and swift delivery

This head torch was bought for its bright red light for use in a photographic darkroom. Works well and the batteries last a long time.

The lightwork is fantastic but the build is of cheap plastic. I am unsure it would last long. The headband and all else praiseworthy. Need to check the battery life on it, though. I would pay a higher price if the construct was more durable.

It has 4 different lighting modes, with the white lighting modes; these can be custom dimmed, the battery case is easy to open (better than the cheaper Energizer in black that needs a screwdriver to prise open) and the battery life is good and it's water resistant (caught out in heavy rain a few times). If you want a no nonsense easy maintenance bright head-torch that you can fix to your hard-hat with just two cable ties I recommend this (I have 4 other head-torches wich are good but this is the best all-rounder that is soldier proof).

Brought this to replace another energizer head torch I used for night training runs. Wanted a bright cheap torch for a night race. The torch is very bright and quite lite weight. Only used the full beam mode, however, my grip with this is that the torch wobbles when tilted downwards. Not great when trail running at night.

Really bright. A pain to attach to my cycling helmet as its back is slippery, but with a bit of ingenuity it can be secured and its a fantastic helmet light for the winter
