Great for route planning
Used this for a recent holiday where we drove the GOR. It was really helpful when we were planning the journey, as we decided to take it slowly and do the drive over 4 days. It allowed us to choose our overnight stops and allow for enough time at the places with more sites of interest. All of the sites shown on the map are well marked on the roads with brown road signs - so no chance of getting lost or missing any of the good views! The map also had some good “detours” that were worth a stop.A useful companion for a GOR trip.

The Australian dream
I am doing an Australian tour in November but not this one. Mine starts in Cairn and I travel south to Melbourne and then back up to Sydney. But this is great orientation for me and it does cover a detailed map of Melbourne. The day by day itinerary looks good, usually covers around 350km a day.The map is decent quality and very clear. It's certainly wetted my appetite and hopefully I can do the coastal road next trip.

Superb clarity and depth of info in a very manageable map
Published in 2023 with attribution of some data from 2020 and 2022. Main map scale is 1:180,000 (2.84in to mile) with inset maps of Melbourne at 1:2000,000 and 12 Apostles at 1:60,000. This is single sided with a strong cover and good quality paper guessing at a min of 80gsm. The Melbourne map is detailed enough to get your bearings and covers 48km by 48km. This is an up-to-date Touring map.Of the many things to like about this map, the first is clarity. There are very decent levels of information on the different maps. The font sizes, colours, geographical/contour information make all aspects clearly identifiable and so easy to read. Easy on the eye, and not muddled with overlayered markings or cramped lettering. It clearly benefits from Collins vast wealth of expertise in map making. On the main map the coast and coastal road displays easily readable symbols for parking, waterfalls, recreational sites etc etc, and the various identified sites each has a written entry and pen photo below the map in the bottom half of the sheet. 32 Places of Interest have a pithy but informative description (longer + more info than I have seen on many other maps) and photos. There is more assistance in the description and illustration of a suggested 3-day itinerary. Even if you are taking a full day tour out towards the 12 Apostles, this map probably can’t be bettered at providing a commentary of the route and an anticipation of what lies around the next cove.Yes, it’s an old school paper map, not with shower-proof laminating, but frankly that should not be a problem for a touring map in this climate. I have unfolded this map many times and it is still in pristine condition because it is single sided so there is no need to refold it from its original concertina folding. If you are taking a 2-3 day tour then this would form an ideal package alongside a satnav, a more detailed descriptive book including flora and fauna etc, and/or detailed pamphlets from the Tourist Info Office in Melbourne. Thoroughly recommended.

Good Map
This is a nice map for people that prefer paper maps, rather than the digitial equivalent these days. It is a well made map and details all the places to stop and see on the Great Ocean Road in Australia a journey I made in my younger days and would like to do again at some point. Hence it made an interesting read and brought back some nice memories looking at the map. I would recommend it for anyone backpacking or driving the Great Ocean Road, you will not be disapponted with the map and what you will see along the way.
