Prodyne Revolving Tray, Off-White

This is a fantastic serving Dish. I serve cold cooked shrimp often, with this dish you can put ice on the bottom of each section, sit the plastic tray on top of the ice, put the shrimp in the tray. There is a lid for each section ,what ever you want to keep cool will stay cool for a long time. In the center is a place for dipping sauce. Bought one for each of my 4 brown children and give them as a wedding present.

First off, this serving tray is big - it works really well for larger gatherings but I think is a bit of an overkill if used for smaller parties.I like that it has two ways of using it: Either with the vented top trays to keep food cold, or only the bottom half with its three compartments - for example for chips, crackers or an assortment of nuts, i.e. foods that do not need chilling.The first time I used this was for chilled dishes that contained some sauce/liquid, so the vented bottoms on the top trays didn't work for that. I solved the problem by lining the trays with aluminum foil in order to keep the liquids from seeping through into the ice cubes. That worked well and still kept the dishes chilled.All in all the perfect tool for summer parties or buffets.

I have been using these for a very different purpose than intended. I have been using them to grow wheat grass. water in the base and seeds (wheat berries) in the trays for healthy juicing. Works well. If your seeds fall through the slits you can buy so nylon insect screen from the hardware store and line the trays for less than a dollar to stop them falling through. I use a knife along the bottom of the tray to cut the roots off then the grass seed mat pulls right out of the tray and the mesh screen seperates easily and is reusable. rinse it all off and use it again

I use this tray for growing my own wheat grass. Got idea on YouTube. It works very nicely for me. If you have a wheat grass juicer, then this Appetizers-on-Ice Revolving Tray may interest you. Actually, after it came in the mail, I wanted to keep it for appetizers! If you grow wheat grass I would recommend purchasing the Tray with a lid. This one does not have a lid.Joan Brock

NO LID! The one with the lid is actually cheaper. Not sure why they even offer this item.

tray perfect size to grow my wheatgrass ,but im very disapointed no covers . i would not have bought it without lids .i think it was miss leading in the add. im so sorry i didnt read the reviews as i usually do for this reason il not give it much on stars

I wasn't a good idea for what I used it. Its great for seafood but not to grown wheat grass.

This server is large enough to hold a goodly amount of a variety of items, and, because the individual trays can sit over ice, stay cool for an extended period of time. Construction quality is excellent, and the price is reasonable. The only thing missing is a cover so that a prepared bunch of appetizers can be transported to another location (I used aluminum foil).
