I’ve had Altra shoes for years and years. This is the best model yet for me. I will say you need to untie the shoes and spread apart just a little before you put them on. You aren’t shoving your feet in when they’re tied, but I absolutely love these shoes. Plantar Fasciitis plagues me, but the Altra Trail Running Shoes manage it well.

These are the best fitting and feeling shoes I own. Great traction and they clean up well. This was not my preferred color, but it does hide trail dirt well and even mud, if left alone to dry, cleans off well. I'll just say this: Altra has some fugly color combos.

The disappointment on a scale of 1-10 is a 12.I have a pair of these from 2 years ago that Ive been obsessed with and finally hiked the tread flat. It was time for new ones.Same size, different color, way more expensive.My gripes:Their new size 9 is not true to size and if it was a 9.5 Id probably be happy. Oh but their 9.5 is about $55 more than their normal cost, so if Im gonna blow $211 on a shoe… this aint it.It run smaller and tighter.I gave it a try on a hike and i have blisters AF around my heel. There is some extra padding on the sides that make the overall fit tighter. I understand the why, but the execution did not pull off well.I wasted $150 for shoes I cant return because I used them, so Im back in my old ones for the next 6 months until I can afford a new pair of something else.This shoe experience lost me as a customer and that is the real disappointment.I loved my other ones so much from the second I put them on. If they didn't charge a totally different price for half sizes because they changed their own shoe, Id probably be telling a better story.

Just received the Olympus 5, After checking reviews, everyone had stated to order a 1/2 sz up, I normally wear a 6-1/2, so I ordered a sz 7. It is still to small, I held it up to a sz 7 Altra Olympus 2.0 and it looks to be a whole sz smaller, more like a sz 6. After trying them on, they feel narrow and rub my little toe. I had went to my local shoe store to try this shoe on, the only reason I didn’t purchase there was because they didn’t have my sz. I did notice however after removing the sole at the shoe store that the inside sole stitching was red and the shoe I received from Amazon was black, I’m a little sceptical, thinking theses are knock off’s. I will be returning these shoes, not sure just yet if I will order a 7-1/2. Other than the stitching being different and the off size shoe, they seam to be of good quality.

I wear Altras because they fit my feet. They also tend to be a bit fragile; I've never gotten a whole year out of a pair. After a few months they're so full of holes that the rocks and sand start leaking in. So I buy them cheap and don't worry about which model (these were $60, I think a discontinued color). These are road-runners and have a slightly thicker sole, maybe 5 mm, than the trail runners. One result is that they usually don't leak when I walk through puddles. The pale color gets dirty very fast so they look like hell, but they seem to be holding up pretty well.

Wife’s not complaining so…..

My favorite shoes in the world for walking/ working in the hospital as a nurse! Best thing I ever bought that doesn’t hurst on long days in the procedure room standing.
