Don't Even Look at another Weather Station
Davis - best name in consumer weather stations. I had an older Davis Weather Station that did not have some of the options that I wanted so I sold it. In it's place I bought another brand with some really nice features like solar/uv, hepatic wind/rain sensors all in one package. And it was inexpensive but after two replacements from the company for bad sensors and the third quickly failing I decided to get a new VP2.I opted for the "works" solar/uv, FARS and the new 6313 console. Could not be happier! These stations are made to last, can easily be maintained and have an excellent track record for accuracy. Fast updating is a must for me and the VP2 offers 2.5 second updates for wind. Watch out for the stations with fancy consoles but don't update readings for long periods of time.As for the 6313 console - not the greatest as it does not have datalogging features that can be sent to weather programs. It sends its data to a Davis provided web page but if you want logging on the web page it costs extra. This is not optimal for me but thankfully I did not sell my old console and it still works along side the 6313 console. The console itself is very nice, good graphics and easy to configure. Maybe someday soon Davis will open the api on it for others to use.In short you get what you pay for, inexpensive weather stations can provide basic weather but if this is truly a hobby for you get the Davis, you will not be sorry.

Best price for the features.
Item arrived as described and only needed a fresh battery on installation. Due to my Amateur (ham) radio hobby, I needed a weather station that was not effected by my 2 radios...HF and 2 meter, 70 CM, and 1.25 meter (144 MHz, 440 MHz, and 220 MHz). other stations I have owned (besides Davis brand) would loose connection with the display if I keyed up one or both of my radios. The Vantage Pro 2 replaced a decommissioned (yet fully functional) Davis Vantage Vue. I was looking for UV sensors, which are not an option on the Vantage Vue. Mounting the unit did require 2 people as it is quite awkward to handle 1 handed while your tighten the mounting brackets.

Love it so far
Love the weather station product, but the wind speed seems to be consistently three to five MPH below what I'd expect. That could be a problem with my mounting location which is only 10ft off the ground in a mostly clear area.

Quality construction & Built to last. Easy installation. Extremely accurate. Many accessories.
I've been interested in weather since I was a child. Some time ago, the small, integrated unit we had died. I researched possible replacements and Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2 kept coming up. It is quite a bit more expensive than many others but has an impeccable reputation for durability. Many of these units are used professionally and by businesses. The included console shows real-time data and wirelessly connects to Internet. Creating an account for your station (optional) allows you to receive forecasts and share your collection data with others. In the end Davis' reputation convinced me to purchase the Pro2 and I'm very happy with it.

Customer Service Failure
This is a review for the customer service and not the product per day. I bought a Davis Vantage Pro 2 twenty yeArs ago and it performed amazingly. I recently purchased a replacement Davis Vantage Pro 2 (exact same model) to hopefully get another 20 years of life. The new unit was working fine for a few days and then suddenly and unexpectedly the wind direction started reporting erroneous data. It was stuck on north (360 degrees) no matter what direction it was pointing.I reached out to Davis customer support and essentially got the shaft. I explained what happened to the customer service rep and his response is that I was having some sort of crosstalk issue. I told him that was impossible because the previous weather station was working perfectly a few days earlier. I also explained that I completely decommissioned the old weather station including moving battery, so it would not conflict. I have had no response from Davis customer support despite repeated emails. I now have a $1500 unit that is not working as expected and Davis could care less.
