Don’t mistake the bottomless knock box with a bottomless portafilter like I did.
This is an open bottom knock box with a nice foam cushion top to protect your portafilter from getting damaged as you knock out the espresso puck. I mistakenly read the “bottomless” knock box as being suitable for a bottomless portafilter. It’s not a big deal as it could be dropped into a cutout table with a container below it for a built in look, or just drop it on top of a Tupperware style container to catch the espresso pucks to be disposed of later. It’s a well made metal box and should hold up to everyday use.

Very well made, heavy gauge stainless, and nice thick rubber all around.

Heavy duty
I got this thinking it would fit into a bucket I already had, but it's too large. Looks like one you'd see at a coffee shop or restaurant.Even though it won't work for me, I can appreciate how well its made. The stainless steel is thick, the rubber padding is substantial. the bar comes apart for cleaning and so does the rim.
