Cistus loose leaf tea
We love this tea. It has light, delicate flavor enjoyed either hot or iced. We drink it medicinally to keep us undesirable to ticks. So far so good.Great value!

Great in a blend!
I ordered this because I love loose leaf tea and haven't had a chance to try cistus yet. I did not order it for the health effects so I can't really speak to those, as far as I'm aware theres's no proof of tea being able to do any of these things. It's a very strong, distinct tea that's reminiscent of a hojicha, very wheaty. I do like it alone with a little sugar, but I also like a lot of super traditional teas ranging all the way from super smokey black teas to grassy greens and pungent pu-erhs.The flavor is pretty bitter and strong, but not unpleasant. I didn't mind it alone, but it wasn't fantastic so the next time I made it I added in some dried citrus, berries, and mint and it's so much better. Because it's a more traditional tea it's easy to layer it with stronger teas for a nicer cup.I've paired it with herbal and rooibos teas, keeping to the citrus area but some berries and even vanilla also pair fairly well, but I love grassy teas.ALSO - there are no instructions on the bag. This is steeped at 200-205 for 8-10 minutes, but I really love it at 205 for 8 minutes with a fruity rooibos with it.

Fresh and strong
Sometimes what your body needs is bitter. And this tea is bitter. Drinking it plain was not particularly pleasant. It's not bad per say, it's just not tasty. I had some plain to test it out but mostly I mix it with my daily tulsi tea. Tulsi is mild and herbaceous so it doesn't mask the cistus that well, but another tea probably would. Sweetener might also help but I don't like sweetened tea.But I'm not drinking this stuff for the taste. It's medicinal. So does it work? Hard to say but my edema has gone down a bit in the last couple of days and adding this tea is the only change I've made. I'm hoping it is the tea. There are some good studies out there that show measurable differences in inflammatory diseases. This brand has a strong smell and seems very fresh and well-handled.
